Ink drawing then mixed media: watercolor and colored pencils and acrylic. The mountainside was particularly challenging and went through three versions.
Love your neighbor.

Possible series... old movie covers. Here’s Montgomery Clift and Elizabeth Taylor in A Place in the Sun.
Meeting sketch
Roman Holiday sketch... needs more bike in the picture.
Vintage big game hunters. Pen and ink.
Meeting doodle on the Bamboo Slate.
Meeting sketches. Sometimes an abstract portrait captures it best.
Strutting into the wind.
A simulated wood carving.
This was drawn on the Bamboo Slate (I’ve written about it before). I like the simplicity of it. It’s pen on paper and then immediately digitized. I like how clean the black and white is without having to use Photoshop. The process also adds an extra layer of thinking about how the final image will be conveyed. Today it occurred to me that I’d like to try to make a woodcut and maybe I could use the Slate to see if I can color negative spaces.
I’ve wanted to share this one for a while but couldn’t as it was a present. I drew this from a paused still of an old documentary on Magadan, Russia. Ink, watercolor, and pencils.
From distance...
This is a sketch of my son shooting around at an AirBnB over the summer. But not just any ol’ AirBnB. This one was a barn coverted into a lofted apartment adjacent to a basketball court. Awesome.
