so i was re-watching money heist (la casa de papel) and, as i do, i imagined what would the cast of gachiakuta do in this setting. so here’s what i came up with:
i always want them to have their jinkis, so the world is a vague modern au with jinkis that are not as powerful.
after Rudo is falsely accused of killing his adoptive father, Enjin saves him from being caught by police. he proposes to include him in a heist of massive proportions and brings him to meet the boss. the boss, Arkha Corvus, and his right hand Semiu Grier, have recruited 10 specialists and brought them to a secluded estate. for five months Rudo, Enjin, Riyo, Zanka, Eishia, Zodyl, Jabber, Momoa, Chtoni and Fuu undergo preparations, study plans and get physical training. they are nominally divided into two groups, the cleaners and raiders. with cleaners responsible for hostages and police interactions and raiders responsible for money printing and securing the escape (this distinction doesn’t last that long when the heist actually kick off lol).
the gang enters the Central Mint of the Ground disguised in uniforms and masks. during the fakeout where they act like the police caught them off guard as they leave the building, Zanka is injured and Jabber attacks the police with his jinki. after it’s revealed they have a giver in the crew, the case is handed over to the Hell Guard. they secure the building and upwards of 60 hostages, including the workers of the mint and a high school class on a field trip, and begin printing their own money, while Semiu initiates negotiations with Commander Kyouka Nijiku.
the character specialties and a little of their plot under the cut:
Arkha Corvus - the mastermind responsible for organising the heist and doing some of the work on the outside. when he realises there is a loose end of a car with their finger prints at a scrap yard, he heads there to destroy it, despite the danger of the Hell Guard discovering there are two people on the outside.
Semiu Grier - the right hand. takes over the negotiation and getting close to Kyouka under a false identity.
Rudo Surebrec - with a lot of minor solo heists under his belt, he is an all-rounder. after his slip up early in the heist lets the guard identify him and Zanka, Zodyl instructs him to kill Amo, a young secretary of the director of the Mint, an act he fakes, instead keeping her hidden in an unused vault.
Enjin - the cleaners team lead. is in charge of final decisions on hostage and police interactions but his laissez faire attitude comes to bite all of them in the ass.
Riyo Reaper - cleaner, combat specialist. she is in charge of overseeing the hostages digging the red herring tunnel. tries to cover up for Rudo when she discovers him hiding Amo.
Zanka Nijiku - cleaner, combat specialist and has insider information on both the Hell Guard and Nijiku family specifically. nobody on the team (other than Arkha and Semiu) know he’s a Nijiku. is supposed to be watching Remlin, the high school student supposed to inherit the Pen, but due to his scattered focus (cough wanting to do freak shit with Jabber cough) has a close call with them trying to make a run for it.
Eishia Stilza - cleaner, medic. her brother is in a lot of trouble and she took this on to use the money to help him. when one of the hostages is shot by mistake of the hell guard, she wants to heal him but the crew has to let the doctors in to avoid revealing her identity.
Zodyl Typhon - the raiders team lead. the raiders are an established heist group. he secretly runs an experiment on hostages, attempting to force a giver.
Jabber Wonger - raider, oversees the money printing. when neither Arkha nor Semiu get in contact with the team in almost 24 hours, he begins a mutiny against both Enjin and Zodyl, which Zodyl punishes by kicking him out of the Mint. while being transported, he is freed by mercenaries arranged by Arkha and returns.
Momoa Rukel - raider, the hacker. is not allowed to use her jinki on the crew. she desperately wants the heist to go to a tee, and gets increasingly frustrated with all the mistakes people are making. however, she is tempted to break the cardinal rule or no casualties after hearing the memories of the mint director and discovering the abuse he put Amo through.
Chtoni Andor - raider, escape specialist, she is responsible for digging the real tunnel, leading to the warehouse where Arkha and Semiu are waiting for them. is devoted more to Zodyl rather than the master plan which becomes a point of conflict.
Kyouka Nijiku - the commander of Hell Guard, she was put in charge of the case when it was revealed one of the robbers is a giver. when she goes to the Mint to do a wellness check on the hostages, she attempts to strongarm Zanka into surrendering. on the outside, she befriends Semiu, not knowing that is the woman she negotiates with at work.
Goka Nijiku - second in command after Kyouka. when one of the hostages is injured by the Hell Guard, he enters the Mint with the doctors, his chest plate was bugged. after one too many coincidences, Kyouka believes he is a mole and kicks him off the case.
the Supporters - including Gris, Follo, Tomme, they have built the tunnel to the warehouse and are there in case of emergency, like rescuing Jabber after he is taken into custody.
