#77 SUNDAY MORNING - NO DOUBT (REQUESTED)
"Sappy pathetic, little me
That was the girl I used to be
You had me on my knees"
You were obsessed with Louis, your boyfriend. You always put him first—no matter what. He was your priority, and in your head, that’s what being in love meant. This was your first real relationship, and you wanted to do everything right to make it last forever. You figured Louis felt the same way, but… reality didn’t quite match up. It was Friday night, and you were waiting for his call, expecting him to pick you up like he always did. You stayed at his place every weekend, it was your thing. So, you were already getting ready when your phone rang. "Hey, love," Louis said, but there was a lot of background noise. Weird. "Hey! Are you on your way?" He hesitated. "Oh, uh… I forgot to tell you—I’m not gonna be here this weekend. Got a last-minute trip with the boys." You froze. What? He didn’t tell you? He didn’t even invite you? But instead of freaking out you played it cool. "Oh… okay. Have fun, Louis," you said quickly, ending the call before he could hear the disappointment in your voice. You knew it was healthy to have separate lives, but if the roles were reversed, you would've at least given him a heads-up. Hell, you probably would’ve tried to bring him along. You let yourself sulk for a bit, but then something clicked. If Louis was doing his own thing, maybe it was time you did the same. So, you did. That night, you went out for dinner with your best friends. The next morning, you made yourself an amazing breakfast, went to pilates, and treated yourself to a shopping trip. When Louis texted, you replied—but didn’t hover over your phone, waiting for his messages. If he wanted space, he could have it. You spent the rest of the weekend catching up with your parents, watching your favorite movies, and just enjoying your time. Before you knew it, Sunday evening rolled around. You walked into your apartment, ready to unwind—only to find Louis sitting on your couch."Where were you y/n?" he asked, sounding weirdly tense. You raised a brow. Seriously? "At my parents' house. They say hi," you said, tossing your bag on the counter. He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Babe, are you mad? I know I should’ve told you earlier, I just… didn’t know how. And I know how much spending weekends together means to you." You sat down next to him but kept a little distance. "We’re good, Louis. I get it now. We both need our own space, so things will be changing for good." His jaw tensed. "I don’t want things to change too much," he admitted, leaning closer. You gave him a small smile but didn’t let him pull you back in so easily. "Then maybe you should start thinking about what you’re willing to change too." You stood up, stretching like the conversation was already over. "I had a great weekend, Louis. Hope you did too." Then, you grabbed your phone and texted your best friend back as you walked into the kitchen—because, for the first time in a long time, Louis wasn’t the center of your world anymore.
"You're trying my shoes on for a change
They look so good, but fit so strange
Out of fashion so I can complain"
Liam was a great boyfriend—you couldn’t see yourself with anyone else. After almost two years together, you really thought things would always stay this way. He used to be so sweet, planning fun dates, surprising you with little things, making you feel like the most loved person in the world. But then, out of nowhere, something changed. At first, you told yourself it was just stress. Maybe work was getting to him, or he had something on his mind. So you stayed patient, gave him space, and kept being your usual loving self. But as the weeks passed, it got harder to ignore. He barely texted first, canceled plans, and when you were together, it felt like he wasn’t really there. He wasn’t mean or anything just… distant. One night, after another unanswered text, it hit you. This isn’t fair. You loved him, but you couldn’t be the only one holding this relationship together. If he wasn’t willing to put in the effort, why were you still trying so hard? So, you stopped. Not in a dramatic way you just decided it was tim to focus on yourself again. You started saying yes to more plans with friends, throwing yourself into work, and even picking up new hobbies. And you felt good. Really good. You realized that no matter what happened with Liam, you were going to be okay. That’s when, ironically, he started coming back around. He called more, asked to see you, and even planned a date for the first time in what felt like forever. But now, you were different. You weren’t just going to fall back into his arms like nothing happened. If he wanted to be in your life, he had to prove it. And for the first time in a long time, you had the power to decide if he was worth it making sure something like that would never happen again.
"I know who I am, but who are you?
You're not looking like you used to"
You were so nervous about today. After a whole year of no contact, you were finally going to see your ex-boyfriend, Niall. Things didn’t end badly between you two, which somehow made it even harder to move on. You both agreed it was best to do no contact, and you even promised yourself not to check up on him—no social media stalking, no asking mutual friends for updates. So, you had no idea what he’d been up to, or if he was even dating someone new. You had managed to avoid running into him for so long, but tonight, there was no way around it. Your best friends were getting engaged, and there was no chance either of you would miss the party. You had considered bringing a date just to make things less awkward, but time got away from you, and now, here you were walking in alone, heart pounding. And then, there he was. He looked the same, but somehow different, too. He was laughing at something, looking so carefree, and for a second, you couldn’t help but smile. But then he turned, and suddenly, his eyes were locked onto yours. Your stomach flipped. You held his gaze for a moment before quickly looking away, focusing on greeting your friends like nothing had just happened.Dinner flew by as you caught up with everyone, the nerves slowly fading. You were actually having a great time, until the music started and people made their way to the dance floor. You figured you’d sit out for a while, but before you could even think about it, Niall was walking toward you. "Can I have this dance?" he asked, and you couldn’t help but laugh. It was an old inside joke between you two. You nodded, letting him take your hand as you danced to a couple of songs. It wasn’t awkward like you expected—it actually felt… nice. Familiar, but also new. You didn’t talk much at first, just moving to the music, but eventually, you found yourselves sitting together, catching up. Hours passed in what felt like minutes, and before you knew it, the party was winding down. Just as you were about to say goodbye, he stopped you. "I’d love to start again, Y/N. Would you give us that chance?" he asked, looking nervous. You hesitated, taking a moment to find the right words. "I’d love to reconnect and see where it goes," you finally said, not making any promises but letting him know you wanted to try. His face lit up, and in that moment, you realized—whatever happened next, this was a new beginning.
"You're on the other side of the mirror
So nothing's looking quite as clear"
Zayn and you had so much in common. When you first met, you were both in relationships, but you clicked instantly and became really good friends. Since then, you had been inseparable, always there for each other but never crossing the line. Eventually, you both became single, but neither of you made a move to turn the friendship into something more. You were still healing from your past relationships, and deep down, maybe you were both afraid of getting hurt again. But without even trying, things started to shift—you hung out all the time, called each other constantly, and suddenly, you were staying over at each other’s places more nights than not. Friends and family were convinced you were together, but the truth was, you hadn’t even kissed. But that all changed when your ex started calling again. He knew he had messed up and wanted a second chance. At first, you ignored it but the more he reached out, the more you found yourself thinking about the past. You mentioned it casually to Zayn, not thinking much of it, but the second the words left your mouth, you noticed a shift in him. He got quiet, his jaw clenched slightly. "Are you thinking about going back to him?" he asked, trying to sound indifferent but failing miserably. "I don’t know," you admitted honestly. "He says he’s changed, and… I mean, we did have something real." Zayn scoffed, shaking his head. "Something real? If it was real, he wouldn’t have let you go in the first place."His words surprised you. You had never seen him react this way before."Zayn, why are you so upset?" you asked, watching his expression carefully. He ran a hand through his hair, letting out a frustrated sigh. "Because, Y/N! We both know how this is gonna end. He’s gonna say all the right things, you’re gonna give him another chance, and then he’s gonna hurt you again." "You care that much?" you whispered.
He exhaled, shaking his head. "Of course, I care. Do you really not see it? This whole time, I’ve been telling myself we’re just friends because it was easier than admitting I—" He stopped himself, running out of words, then finally met your eyes again. "I'm in love with you Y/N." Your heart stopped. "You are?" you asked. He nodded, looking almost defeated. "Yeah, I am. And I don’t want to lose you to someone who doesn’t deserve you." Without thinking, you got closer and kissed him and it clicked you knew this was it. This was what you had been so scared of, and it had been right in front of you the whole time. When you finally pulled away, you smiled. "I am in love with you too, Zayn" Zayn grinned, resting his forehead against yours. "So, no more exes?" "No more exes," you confirmed, pulling him in for another kiss.
"You sure have changed since yesterday
Without any warning
And you want me badly
Because you cannot have me"
Tonight was your best friend’s birthday, and you were finally introducing your new boyfriend, Thomas, to your friend group. There was only one small problem, Harry was going to be there too. Harry had been one of your closest friends for years. You were inseparable, always making plans and spending time together whenever you both were free. He just got you. At some point, you realized your feelings for him were more than just friendship, and when you finally told him, you hoped he felt the same. But instead of saying anything, he got weird and started pulling away. You were hurt, but you didn’t want to force anything, so you let things be. A few months later you met Thomas. He was sweet, and funny, and he never left you wondering how he felt. From day one, he made it clear he wanted something real, and you let yourself fall for him. At exactly 7 p.m., Thomas showed up at your door, looking ridiculously handsome. His smile grew as he took you in. "You look stunning, Y/N," he said, leaning in to kiss you. He seemed a little nervous about meeting your friends, but you assured him they’d love him. And you were right—your best friend greeted him warmly, making you feel instantly relieved. Everything was going great until Harry showed up. The second you looked up, he was already staring at you, his eyes flickering down to where you were holding Thomas’s hand. His expression changed for just a split second, but it was enough for you to notice. He made his way through the group, saying hi to everyone before finally reaching you. "Hey, Y/N. Long time no see," he said, acting cool. "Hey, Harry! I want you to meet Thomas, my boyfriend." You made sure to say it confidently as Thomas stood up to shake his hand. Harry barely acknowledged him. "Oh. Boyfriend already? Congrats," he muttered before walking off. You let out a quiet breath. But at least it was done. You decided to focus on having a good time, but you couldn’t help but notice Harry looking at you way too often. And you weren’t the only one who noticed. As you and Thomas danced together, he leaned in and smirked. "I think Harry has a crush on you. He’s been staring all night." You rolled your eyes. "I only want to be with you, babe. There’s nothing to worry about," you said before pulling him in for a kiss. After a while, you got thirsty and went to the kitchen for some water while Thomas was in the bathroom. As you poured yourself a drink, you suddenly heard a voice behind you."Was I that easy to move on from?" You turned around, your stomach twisting. Harry stood there, his expression unreadable."Are you serious?" you scoffed. "I tried to fix our friendship, and you were the one who ignored me. Now you’re suddenly saying this?" He hesitated for a second before finally speaking. "I got scared, okay? Because I liked you too. And I thought maybe if we gave it some time, we’d figure it out and be a couple." You let out a small, bitter laugh. "Now you say that? It’s too late, Harry. You’re just jealous because you can’t have me anymore." You turned to leave, but he gently grabbed your wrist. "I’m not giving up on us."You pulled away, shaking your head. "There is no ‘us’ anymore." And with that, you walked away, searching for Thomas. Your heart felt heavy, but deep down, you knew you made the right choice.
