how do you get the lighting colours?? do you pick them yourself or do you use diff layer types or??

i'm not very smart so i generally slap colours on a single layer unless i want to separate the foreground and background, etc for easy editing LOL. i can try explaining my process tho it's probably better to learn from actual experienced painters--

i generally just start with a single mood colour to cover the character, while also just thinking 'maybe the light source will hit here' and decide on a light source colour (like yellow usually) and also maybe slap that on. then it's kind of a mess but just start colouring while blending base character/shadow colours with the mood colour and spamming colour picker so to try and keep everything uniform...usually all done with the default oil paint flat brush in csp at this point. if i want to be fancy i'll do some parts of the rendering process or touch ups w more textured brushes i find in the csp store.
