I didn’t mind the ending to The Originals as such, but I am saying that given the various witch contacts & magical firepower the Mikaelsons have, plus Caroline Forbes, the answer to this heart wrenching conversation-

-is to shove Klaus (and possibly Elijah) into a prison world whilst whoever else works on a cure.

It’s an ending, it still gives Hope the kickstart her story needed for Legacies (ie daddy issues), it’s extremely bittersweet but it’s also open-ended, and it doesn’t fly in the face of the world building they’ve established over years.

Also, because I am something of a monster, it provides the strong possibility of Klaus slowly going insane locked up, which would make it all the more interesting narratively speaking when he is inevitably released.

Just thinking how Nancy’s first scene ever is with Dustin and Steve’s first scene ever is with Nancy.

Then at the end of season 2, Steve last scene is with Dustin and Dustin’s last scene is with Nancy.

I don’t know why it matters but somehow it does.

I could scrape the crumbs and make a meal as a coping mechanism, and I know fic writers will do it so we'll (I mean I hope you will feel like writing for us the best fix its ever), but right now I think this shitty ending doesn’t deserve the honor to be giffed. Because we’ve been loving these characters for so long, and I feel an unbearable sense of loss for what could have been, so I won’t do that for now. UNLIKE Steve Harrington, I am an idiot, so my mind loves to make something out of nothing, but not this time. Because we haven’t been daydreaming here. (Nothing against daydreaming btw!) We had a very real arc, with very well fleshed characters, all of it to see them turn into dust, the dumb small town jock who never leaves his town, and the “strong, independent” woman who doesn’t need a man, hell, she doesn’t even need to stop repressing her feelings to heal, she’s strong and independent and that’s enough!!! I’m heartbroken for my favorite characters and so many others who deserved better. If you try to please Reddit dudebros and have no real passion about the story you’re being paid to tell, that’s what you get. Uninspired HORSESHIT. Fans ended up loving these characters much more than you, dumb brothers, and you let everyone down.

Shocking, I know. Shocking indeed, though. For those of us who dared to hope.
