Inviting Yoori was a mistake. Letting her close was a mistake. Letting himself get too close to her was a mistake. Everything about this night was a mistake and it will continue to be a mistake with all his goddamn poor choices. Who made him like this? who else? The biggest mistake he has ever made and yet the same person is responsible for his happiness. A kind of happiness beyond anything he has ever felt before.
Gone were the young smiles, innocent embraces and stolen glances. She was a memory he was supposed to keep inside of him. The content inside the pandora box he's not supposed to open and now he had once again unleashed her, letting her taint his every choice into something that could favor her. Everything was once again all about Song Yoori. Fuck. He messed up, he knows. He just doesn't want to admit it. Not yet. He's not drunk enough for this. She's right. He invited her to forget her. To let go of her completely. To show her that he has everything that Jongin has. Women, money and everything good in this life. The only difference is that she's not part of the things he treasure anymore. Supposedly. That was his plan.

"How can I accept the praises of a goddess? You tell me, noona." Shik smiles at Chaewon. She's always been so kind and so sweet to him. Sometimes he feels as if he doesn't deserve a person like her in his life and he will always feel that way, sadly. She's too good for this world. "My brain isn't really meant for useful things. You should've known that by now. I only remember music and face of beautiful women, probably their names and phone numbers too." He jokes. Chaewon wouldn't believe that. She knows him too well. He's bad with names. It takes him ages to actually remember stuff he deems that are not really worth remembering. He looks at her in worry. She may insist that she's no longer a child and so on, but no. Wonshik would insist he takes her home instead and she can complain all she wants but her safety matters and he will put that first before listening to her complaints.
"I'm not treating you like a child. I just want to make sure you're safe. Is that a bad thing to do?" He asks her. Normally, lovers do that. But friends and family can too, he's her friend and she's important to him. There's nothing she can do about it. "I'll start picking you up tomorrow. Let me do it for a week at least." He pleads, he worries that the man would return. He's scared that the next time he sees her, she'd be hurt already. The thought itself alone makes him mad. "No. I'll take care of you starting tomorrow. You can try to fight me, noona. But I will still pick you up." He insists. Picking her up from work seems to be a good excuse too, to avoid drinking or hanging out with people he doesn't really want to hang out with. It was a good way for him to get out of work every once in a while too.
"Call me. I insist. If not, I will call you. If you don't pick up, I will report it to the police that you're missing." Wonshik tells the female, he's sure about doing those things. She can't do much about it. He's pretty stubborn. He's pretty much the childish one between the two of them. "Do you want me to bump your head on my muscles?" Wonshik asks jokingly. "Getting hurt physically isn't new to me. Stop acting like I never got hurt before. I got in trouble a lot before, noona." He tells her with a grin. It wasn't something he's supposed to be proud of, but he's certain he can always try and save her. His muscles would be useless if they were just for display. He didn't work out to look good. He already looks good. He just doesn't need nor does he want to brag about that. He's not that confident enough. "My gym membership would go to waste if I don't try to use my muscles to good use. Don't you think so?"
The green light finally takes his attention. Eyes back on the road, slowing around the corner where he remembers the said restaurant waiting for them to come. The fact that she seems excited to eat and just the sound of her being pleased and far from being stressed like earlier was indeed something he liked. "Then he should settle it with your father. Not you. Do you look like some collateral he can come back to every now and then for someone else's debts?" He shook his head. Irritated. "Seven years and yet you're the one dealing with all these shit? Tsk." He then points the restaurant.
"Look. We're here, noona." Parking the car before he turns to her. "I won't tell them. But tell me when you need help. I'm not a kid anymore, noona. I can be a Prince Charming now too." Winking playfully at her before he proceeds to get off of the vehicle. Jogging to open the door for her. Quick to extend his hand out to escort her out of the vehicle safely. "Just take my hand and depend on me. I'll help you no matter what happens."

Congratulations. The word he kept on hearing from people. It was supposed to put him a good mood. He invited Yoori so he can show her what he really is without her. Instead of feeling better and successful, he felt sick to his stomach. The music slowly faded and he felt so much more awake despite having a few drinks already. How could he not invite her? He wouldn't have minded settling down at an early age. He didn't mind devoting his whole life to her and his music. He had hopes for a bright and colorful future before. Only to end up in a tragic reminder that their love story seems to be written by Shakespeare. She's not happy. So is he.
"Who is she?" One of the girls asked as his eyes remained on her despite the dimmed lights and crowded place. "The love of my life." He didn't hesitate to say. Grinning afterwards and bowing to them as he makes his way to the bar, requesting for a few shots of vodka. He drinks. One. Two. Three. Three shots of vodka for the sake of gathering the courage to follow her on the dance floor. It was so easy to find her. Her hair always stood out. The soft sunset that reminds him of the good days and the darkness approaching. His songs kept playing in the background. They seemed foreign to him. He can't remember when he was able to write such songs.
His feet were quick to move. Rushing to stand behind her, pressing his body against her own while he grooved to the music. His hips working, swaying along with her body. Gripping on her waist and pulling her closer to him. He leans his lips to her ear. Breathing warmly against her neck before he spoke. "I invited you here. Just because I said you can do anything you want, doesn't mean I'm gonna let a man get too close to you." He was conflicted. He wanted to say goodbye. This is the last time they will be meeting each other. He said he didn't care and yet he was suddenly possessive of her. He didn't want another man getting touchy with her. He was hers. She was his. Was.
"Don't make me come back here. I might just kiss you then." His hand roams on her waist and his lips linger near her neck a little too long and it was as if his own body betrayed him. His mind shut off for a second and the alcohol took over, letting his heart slip onto his sleeves as his lips press a kiss on her neck. "I'm not over you yet. So don't do anything stupid that will make me want to make you mine tonight." His voice deep and velvety. His eyes were shut and when they fluttered open, he came back to his senses and moved among the crowd. Moving away from her. She's like a drug and he's addicted to her. He's probably going to regret it, inviting her to his party, no, he's already regretting it.

Women. The reason for his downfall. Wonshik's life went down the drain then, but not every woman he met and cross paths with is evil. "People change." He tells the other male with a state of calmness in his voice. "It's funny how much I resented women then and yet I find myself with one on my bed every once in a while." His eyes fall on his friend. Can he still call him that? What was a friend to Kim Wonshik? He doesn't know anymore. Ever since he was betrayed by his so-called friends, he has found himself losing understanding of the meaning of the word itself. "I know. Everyone has their own shit to deal with. It was rather stupid that I tried to rely on you and Chanyeol then to save my ass from my own mess. I couldn't admit my own mistakes then. Because we weren't the people that you can expect to be in such mess."
They drank. Party all weekend. Slept with women. Had fun the way boys should. None of them got in so much trouble till his name hit GG's radar and the women whose names he barely remembered took control on his life. It's all just for fun, he said. Yet in the end, it wasn't too fun listening to the silence coming from his friends. They all had their problems but they knew well how to ignore them like they didn't exist. Wonshik was abused and bullied by his own brother. Finding two brothers in Chanyeol and Hoseok was a big deal for him, that's why he couldn't accept it when both of them refused to back him up when he was being accused by the women who tells everyone he sexually harassed them.
"I had no plans contacting you or Chanyeol either. I'm barely meeting people. Constantly meeting you both on weekly basis would only remind me of how shitty friends you guys once were." There was truth in his words, he can't just act like they did the right thing by keeping their mouths shut. They've done nothing and that nothing simply harmed him greatly. But he listens to the other's suggestions. Red lipsticks remind him of strong independent women. Too headstrong for their own good. The soft pink suits better in his opinion. "I'll go with the pink one. That's better than red. Women who wear red lipstick is dangerous. You've had them before, right? Those kinds of women who wear red lipstick and only cause trouble." He grins to himself, reminded of the women in their lives. They come and go. None of them really stays in their lives for a long time nor do they wish for those women to stay that long either.
Wonshik's tongue doesn't sit still inside his mouth. Probably because of the accessory that sits comfortably on his tongue. "What are you buying that thing for anyway?" He asks out of curiosity, watching Hoseok go from one jar to another. Lip Scrub. Was he trying to impress someone? It was quite an odd choice but then again who is normal in their group? They did stupid things to impress women then. "Hey." Suddenly his heart sinks at the way Hoseok speaks about his mother. He felt genuinely sorry. "I'm sure she's watching over you now. Just make her proud by becoming a better man. I bet that's what she would have wanted for you." It didn't sound like him, to comfort someone else, since he never really dealt with people. He was always too busy. Too focused on work. "What do you do now?"

"Smart? I haven't heard that since I fucked up in high school." Wonshik laughs, he couldn't help but make fun of himself. "I guess my brain works at situations where I need to actually use it." He looks around to make sure they were unfollowed as he drives away from the place with Chaewon safely seated next to him. He worries about Chaewon, seeing her get in trouble before his very eyes was something he didn't want to see again. He isn't really sure if it's even advisable that Chaewon works late and goes home alone.
"Noona, if you're gonna go home late next time, you should call me so I can pick you up." He calmly tells her, more like instructing her to do so. "My parents would kill me if they knew that I didn't take good care of you when I could do so." His family adores Chaewon, she's the best girl out there they said but Wonshik told them he's dating someone, but it was a lie. He's far from dating or getting serious with anyone. "I can buy another watch, noona. Don't worry too much about it."
Wonshik was glad that he came right on time, just in time to prevent any kind of troubles to happen. He doesn't know how he would deal with it if Chaewon got hurt. He could only let out a small smile, relieved that she's safely sitting in the car with him and away from any more kind of trouble that could threaten her safety. He glances at her as she takes his hand, the gesture warm and familiar but also it somewhat reminded him of how foreign a woman's touch has become to him after all those moments with his beloved sunset.
"I'm a man now, noona. You don't have to worry about me. It's my turn to worry about you and protect you." He smiles widely at her, grabbing on the stirring wheel as she lets go of his hand. "My dad would be proud of you if he heard you say that." Taking a small turn at the next block, Shik looks for a good restaurant. Going for a fancy restaurant was his initial plan but he thinks that it's better to go to a place where no one really recognizes the both of them.
"We can grill some meat and have beer too. If you want rice, they serve it too also they have a great clam soup." He tells her, unable to name the restaurant because frankly, he's not good at remembering names. He just wanders around and eats wherever he ends up going. "Why was that dickhead waiting for you? You really need some additional security at your workplace." Slowing down at the red light, he turns to look at Chaewon. "I know you're keeping things from me and I respect that, but please, don't forget that you can always call me to save you when you need a hero."

"Chill." Wonshik tells the bigger male, it seems like he's taking the whole thing a lot less seriously than he should, but he's not gonna risk getting himself killed or have Chaewon get hurt, he'd never forgive himself if she was to ever get hurt. "It's okay, noona." She assures her, still managing to smile at her like he's not planning to take back his little deal with the devil. Only that this devil was quite stupid for agreeing. Did he think that Wonshik didn't have anything up on his sleeve? "It's just a watch. Your life matters more than this piece of luxury." He gently pats her head. Now he's taller and stronger, it was his turn to protect her and take good care of her. She has always been by his side when he needed someone to lean on.
"Come on. Let me handle this like a man. Let me be a man for you once, noona." Wonshik mutters under his breath while the man waits for the said piece of jewelry to land unto his hands. Gently pushing Chaewon to stand behind her. If she wants to tell him about this later, he's gonna hear her out, but for now, she'll have to stay behind him because it's the only way he knows how to protect her at the moment. He takes off his watch, eyes still at the man while he does so. "This is a really expensive watch, you know? You can only sell this at a Cartier shop." Handing the watch to the man and lifting both of his hands up, showing how he has no interest fighting the man at all.
"You have my watch now, I trust you'll let me and my noona go now. Good evening, mister. Farewell." He backs away with small steps, not turning his back at the male just yet. He's not gonna let himself get shot because he was dumb enough to turn his back at the devil which gives him an opportunity to attack him. "Come on, noona. Let's take you home." Escorting her back to his vehicle, Wonshik opens up the passenger's seat for her and places a hand over her head as she helps her get in and carefully makes sure she doesn't hit her head anyway. He turns to the male and salutes with two fingers before he calmly goes over the driver's seat, climbing in and locking the door right away when he gets inside.
"He won't get the money." He assures her with a huge ass grin on his face. "I'm gonna report that watch as stolen." Revving up the engine of his car. He glances over to Chaewon. "Seatbelt, noona." He points out, making sure to put her safety first before anything. "Even if he tries to piece out the whole thing, he won't get that much money if he does so. The whole thing itself is what makes it expensive. But hey, you owe me a dinner for that watch." Reaching out to gently poke her cheek affectionately.

"Whether they believe you or not, all I wanted to know was that my friends, no, best friends would stand up for me." There was no anger in his tone, instead, there was sadness and it felt like high school all over again when his fears were trying to get the best of him and he was nothing but pure disappointment in his father's eyes. "Ride or die. That's what we said. So, why did you and Wonho let me die on my own?" He asked bitterly, wondering all these years how the two people he trusted the most turned into the people who would betray him. He remembers yelling at his friends, he remembers trying to pick a fight with them but he couldn't bring himself to hurt them despite her anger and he treated them as dead people while he walked alone.
"Yeah? Then what? Wait for you to get fed up with me?" He couldn't bear the thought of becoming a burden to his friends, that's just not the thing he wants to become after being betrayed and considered as an outsider. "I got banished from my own home, so it was okay because I still had a place to come home to and a bed to sleep in. I had too much pride to ask a former friend of mine for any kind of help. I survived." He sighs, feeling like he needs to clear this out before he could do better things in life. He's held things in for way too long already and he's wrong too, partly, he knows this but refused to let himself give in to becoming weaker than he already was.
Chanyeol had good intentions but the old him was too hung up over the fact he was on the verge of losing everything and his friends knew about it but said and done nothing. People have their own reasons just as things happen for a reason. "Yeah, she dumped me right away when she found out and she dated that asshole, Jongin. It really sucks, man. I was really in love with her." His best friends knew. He wouldn't shut up about her even when they drink and she was starting to become an everyday topic for Kim Wonshik. But alcohol had its way with Wonshik.
"Why?" Wonshik furrowed his eyebrows. "I know I call you asshole and you are, but that doesn't mean that the mini you would be the same." People change and he knows Chanyeol probably would have changed with a child coming into his life. "Do you really hate yourself that much? If you do, you're gonna make me wonder why I became friends with you in the first place. I'm friends with only the people I think are trustworthy and worth fighting for." He sighed, telling himself to let things go. One at a time. Time has passed them by and they're not getting any younger. It was only right to forgive and forget. Start a new chapter in their lives while they're at it. "Was she your girlfriend? The one you almost knocked up?" He asked cautiously. "I have no rights to ask, I know but, if we want to do something with the friendship thing, we might as well start with proper catching up with each other."

“Triple up, huh?” Wonshik clicks his tongue, wondering if he should. He should buy Chaewon something too and maybe Shinhye? His tongue peeks out from his lips, which caused him to display his tongue piercing without really knowing that he was doing so. “Maybe I should. I have plenty of women in my life up until now. I call them family members.” He chuckles gently touching his chin. He should buy a shaving cream too. “That’s great then. Wanna keep it that way? Not being focused on each other?” He asks. Picking up one lipstick after another while he mentally reminds himself of his list of women to give these gifts to. Taking the coral colored lipstick, the orange hue reminding him of Yooi right away. “Not like you and Chanyeol got kicked out of your own home and was treated like a fucking stranger by your own father. Ah, also the part where you get your friends to betray you when you’re on the brink of losing everything. I wish you gave me the notice to care about your life after you fucked up with mine.”
It took Shik everything to become the man that he is today. It was only recently that he managed to talk to his father again after so long which made him think everything was finally looking up for him after all those years an suffering all alone and the fear of having friends that would betray him which led him to isolate himself more than a normal person would. “All it took was three words. It’s not true.” Wonshik says, knowing it was all he needed to hear from his friends when they were asked about the situation. But they kept their mouths shut and so the fall of the musketeers happened. They went on separate ways and never looked back to the brothers they promised to ride or die with. All it took was a mistake, a party, liquor, and women. The things that they were living for, the things that made them popular was the cause of their own downfall, more like, his.
“Chanyeol hyung? That fucker has been under a dry spell for years now. Don’t worry, I’m not telling you guys to fuck off from my life anymore, but it would be nice if you preferred to do so.” Picking a number of lipsticks in different colors, he can ask over the counter later if they were good colors for women anyway. “Ride or die, we said. That’s what we always explained our trio. But you both left me out in the cold to die.” Lifting a light pink lipstick and showing it off to his former friend. “You think my sister would like this?” He asks out of curiosity before it crosses his mind, he remembered something he shouldn’t and now he only ends up feeling sorry for Hoseok. He’s the one who refused to hear them out, that’s true but they fucked up with his life that he ended up as an outsider in the school he once used to rule with them. “Sorry.” Wonshik clears his throat. “I know what happened to your mom.” He sighs rather loudly. “I know we’re not friends anymore and this s very late, but I’m really sorry for your loss.”
