LG Clears ED Prosecution Against Kejriwal

Arvind Kejriwal, former Delhi Chief Minister and national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party, is facing increased legal challenges. Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena has authorized the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to proceed with prosecuting Kejriwal in connection with the excise policy case. On December 5, the ED had formally requested permission to initiate prosecution against the former CM.

The Delhi High Court will hear Kejriwal’s petition on January 30, 2025, challenging the order to take cognizance of the ED’s chargesheet in the Delhi Excise Policy case. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) counsel informed Justice Manoj Kumar Ohri that Additional Solicitor General SV Raju was scheduled to present arguments on Friday, but was unable to attend.

Golden Temple Shooter Arrested After Attack on Sukhbir Badal

Sukhbir Badal, President of the Shiromani Akali Dal, was attacked in Amritsar, Punjab when a gunshot was fired near the Golden Temple. Fortunately, Badal is unharmed. He had visited Sri Harmandir Sahib to perform a religious penance assigned by Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

The attacker, identified as Narayan Singh Chaura, has been arrested. Reports indicate that Chaura is a former terrorist with ties to Babbar Khalsa International. He traveled to Pakistan in 1984 and was involved in smuggling weapons and explosives into Punjab during the early years of terrorism. Chaura is also implicated in the Burail jailbreak case and has previously served prison time.

The incident occurred around 9:30 am on Wednesday while Badal was near the gate of Sri Harmandir Sahib. Congress Uneasy Over EVM Blame Amid Maharashtra Lok Sabha Losses

There is unease within parts of the Congress over the party’s outspoken “blame-the-EVM” stance after consecutive defeats in Haryana and Maharashtra, states where the BJP had faced setbacks in the Lok Sabha elections only five months earlier.

Many leaders believe that the loss in Maharashtra shouldn’t have been such a surprise, as internal surveys ahead of the November 20 state elections had indicated that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), which includes Congress, might struggle to hold onto its gains from the June Lok Sabha elections.

The surveys highlighted that the Ladki Bahin Yojana, introduced by the Eknath Shinde government, was gaining momentum.

In fact, a survey conducted in October across 103 seats, just weeks before the polls, revealed that the MVA was losing ground from its Lok Sabha lead. According to the survey, the MVA was ahead in just 44 of these seats, down from 54 in the Lok Sabha elections.

In contrast, the BJP-led Mahayuti, ahead in 49 seats, was leading in 56. One seat was led by “others,” and two were undecided.

The survey also showed that the MVA had a clear lead only among Muslim voters, while the Mahayuti was ahead in all other categories—General, OBC, SBC, SC, SEBC, and ST. The NDA also led the MVA in all age groups, especially among younger voters. Kejriwal’s ‘Revdi Par Charcha’ Ahead of Delhi Polls

CBSE 2025 Exam Dates for Class 10 & 12 Released

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the date sheets for the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams, which will begin on February 15, 2025. Class 10 exams will start with the English paper, while Class 12 will begin with the Entrepreneurship exam.

Students can access and download the full timetables from the official CBSE website at cbse.gov.in. The board has stated that around 44 lakh students are expected to appear for these exams. To avoid scheduling conflicts, the timetable was carefully crafted, considering more than 40,000 subject combinations to ensure that no student has overlapping exams on the same day.

Both Class 10 and Class 12 exams will take place in the morning shift, with most papers scheduled from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, while some will be from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

For the first time, the date sheets have been issued 86 days prior to the start of the exams, which is 23 days earlier than the previous year. CBSE also made sure to consider the dates of entrance exams for Class 12 students, ensuring the board exams are completed before those begin.

Siddaramaiah Questioned by Lokayukta in MUDA Case

On Wednesday, the Lokayukta police questioned Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for about two hours regarding the MUDA site allocation case. Siddaramaiah appeared before the Lokayukta team, led by Superintendent of Police TJ Udesh, in response to a summons. Tracon Grants Super-Voting Shares to CEO

San Diego-based Tracon Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (OTCQB) has revealed in a recent SEC filing dated October 11, 2024, that it has issued a super-voting share and made amendments to its bylaws.

The biotechnology company, which focuses on biological products, announced the creation of Series A Preferred Stock, also referred to as the Super-Voting Share. This share was authorized by the Board of Directors and granted to the company’s CEO and sole director, Craig R. Jalbert, at a nominal purchase price of $0.01.

The Super-Voting Share provides Jalbert with an extensive voting power equivalent to the total number of outstanding common shares when a proposal for the company’s liquidation and dissolution is presented. This development effectively consolidates decision-making authority in the hands of the CEO for these significant matters.

This share is prioritized over common stock and any future potential classes regarding asset distribution during company liquidation, dissolution, or winding up. However, it does not entitle its holder to dividends and can be redeemed by the board at any time for $0.01.

In addition to the Super-Voting Share issuance, Tracon Pharmaceuticals has also updated its bylaws. The amendment, effective October 11, 2024, alters the quorum requirement for stockholder meetings.
