I'm SJT/JT. He/him and a ✨️gay trans man✨. I've been casually watching hockey on and off for a few years but got really into it after Heated Rivalry and the Olympics.

I'm just here for a good time. If you try to be mean or if I find you annoying, I'll probably just delete your comment/ask and block you since I don't think deleting comments is a bad thing, and I don't believe in replying to nasty asks. I will probably take a screenshot and share it with my friends, though.

the way I see the willgabe friendship is that Will and gabe have the type of platonic homoerotic friendship that most straight boys have with that one friend. Like idk how to emphasise this enough. The ones that call each other bro while wanting to be Macbeth and lady Macbeth when reading Shakespeare in English class. The type that would get married drunk and find it funny rather than freak out. That type of stuff

while mack and will have that homoerotic friendship that is actually romantic love. Where you can feel the tension in the air 24/7. Slow blinks and soft voices and almost too tender to just be friendship.

Thinking thoughts about Will sitting on the bench after Mack scored his record-breaking goal in the last game of the season. How he cradled the puck between both hands with a gentleness the moment didn’t require. How he held the puck safe and sound for Mack. How the way he protected it mimics the way he protects his relationships in his life. How he nurtures them and treats them like fragile delicate trinkets to store in an age-worn memory box under his bed. The underlying implications of Mack, bold and shining and decidedly not fragile in the eyes of the world seemingly being Will’s most delicate find of all.

Thinking also of Mack’s Olympic stick. Gifted or borrowed or ordered but most definitely red and white and glaringly maple-leafed in a place it in theory should never find a home in. Pondering the larger Greek tragedy of it all, a young Olympian with destruction in his wake & the relentlessly loyal golden boy the fates wove into his story. genuinely what does macklin do to all these men to make them constantly fall in love with him in the blink of an eye. they’re obsessed. they look so happy to play with mack and get so fond whenever they’re talking about him. when asked about mack’s hockey, they always dutifully praise his skills, and then continue, unprompted, to gush about how he’s the nicest kid in the world, just treats everyone so well, such a joy to be around, exactly like sid. whether they’re coaches, teammates, opponents, reporters, or random men off the street he interacts with for three seconds as they press him for a pic, none of them can get enough. they’re all kidnapper risks, every single one of them

In fear (😵‍💫) of the USA/Canada game today, here’s a flashback from Feb 23rd, day after the olympics interview 🚬 . Will looking like he didn’t sleep for a minute respectfully. Mack’s dad said he was inconsolable after the game and the morning after would’ve been Will’s night still, and Will in a previous interview saying Mack was telling him about the village earlier and they were keeping in touch. So my hypothesis is he spent his whole night just letting Mack vent and distract him and let him rant after he spent the entire week listening to how happy Mack was accomplishing his dream of being an Olympian. And I’m gonna be bold here and say he in fact did not listen to free bird “a lot” because like I said he spent his whole night listening to how Mack thinks he failed Canada. But he can’t exactly say “I’ve been avoiding that song because mack is in the trenches and all I want to do is hang out with him and make sure he feels better.”
