intrigued by the point that when Taylor’s albums become less s*nically c*hesive (RED in 2012 and Lover in 2019), it’s indicative of her being anxious in her current musical state, and ready to branch out and try new things........ much to think about

so sort of a fun fact I had a film minor in college and we learned about what different shots/directions of actors’/models’ faces mean. Anyways in the old version, she’s looking back (physically and metaphorically she’s looking back on childhood and adolescence) and then in the new version she’s looking forward (to owning her own music and the rest of her career) so there’s some cool symbolism in flipping the direction she’s looking even though it’s just a really subtle change
