It was an unexpectedly long day. Although you’ve been warned countless times - he was especially persistent in his concerns - that it would be utterly exhausting, you still couldn’t imagine how bone-tired you’d feel just halfway through the filming. Two missions were already behind, just one mission left before the final race, or what it was, the writers had planned for the end.
For now, you felt confident enough to consider the possibility of winning. Although you were not greedy about the victory before the show, and were much more concerned about your image, now you were burning with an itching desire to obtain the main prize. What if it was gold?! It’s likely you’d been infected by other members’ enthusiasm. There was just one tiny problem standing between you and your big victory: your significant one. He was too damn obvious. And it didn’t surprise you, actually.
The day started with a brief meeting with the writing crew in the early morning. They explained the concept of today’s episode: deduce guest’s secret connection to the show, your hidden identity, so to say. At first, you’d be introduced just as a model and a rookie actor. The rest would be for the members to smell out and expose. To be honest, even though half of the show had already passed, you were still questioning your decision to come here and disclose your relationship. Were you too careless agreeing to his plan?
Then, you were told that there were three missions arranged before the “finale race”. Each time you’d be playing against the regular members with a bit of help from your loyal spy planted amongst them. If the Running Man team won, they’d be given a hint on your hidden identity. Your task and honorable duty, in turn, was to do anything conceivable to interfere with their advances, cheating and sabotage included. The picture didn’t look half bad.
You’ve been through two games already, so far it was 50% success. The first game was a win. It was relatively easy to distract members from their mission bringing failure after failure upon them. You felt a wave of relief with a ping of nervousness – or was it excitement? – when you saw the hint you had snatched from your opponents’ hands. The note read: “Personal”. Your heart skipped a beat. Wasn’t this hint a bit too strong? And right from the start. You frowned at the writers’ decision and wished for the next round to be just as easy.
The second game you lost with flying colors. Apparently, others were highly motivated by their bitter defeat and didn’t intend to go easy on you, even though you were a guest, a girl and a foreigner, triple combo. Wouldn’t it be simpler if they just let you win and everyone could go back to their cozy homes instead of freezing their butts off in the water? Though, most importantly, your relationship almost got revealed! Big thanks to your awkward, yet very capable, other half. He nearly blew your disguise.
The game itself was rather straightforward. Every one, except for Jihyo, who was given a slightly different task, just had to carry you from one circle into the other. All the way across the swimming pool. With a level of water gradually rising. And with acupuncture mats lying on the bottom. Oh, and no need to mention, you’re not obliged to comply. No sweat, right?
Your “captors” repeatedly dropped you or fell with you in their hands, on their back or… well, somewhere on them. You even were stepped on. By Big-Nose. Unspeakable! So when it was your sweetheart’s turn, he showed too much caution while whisking you from the platform and dragging you across the pool, totally unconvincing acting. You weren’t sure what was written on your face at that moment: adoration, bewilderment, annoyance? Moreover, you couldn’t openly communicate your feelings to Gary right in front of the rest of the cast. How frustrating! Fortunately, it all ended with other members turning it into a joke.
Yoo Jaesuk suddenly yelled when Gary was cradling you delicately before tossing into the water:
-Hey, Gary, what you think you’re doing! Are you guys dating? – He walked to the edge of the pool in an attempt to hurry Garry up while Kwangsoo started exclaiming something excitedly. But you were not listening, Jaesuk’s last sentence still ringing in your years. You even forgot that you should be struggling to break free and quieted down in Gary’s arms. Who, by the way, just blushed radiantly and kept going straight ahead mumbling something through the muffled laughter. Like, if you ignored it long enough, it would just go away.
-You keep on falling for pretty female guests too easily, Gary. – Ji Sukjin offered with a grin. – And all in Jihyo’s plain sight.
-What can I do, I’m a man with a single flaw. I’ve got too soft a heart. – Gary revolted breaking the paralyzing spell that seized you earlier. You quickly recovered and got on the joke not to arouse more suspicion.
Thus, the crisis was averted. Yet it didn’t save you from losing the game. On your way to the next mission location you felt your stomach rumble from all the worrying about the possible straightforwardness of the hint. To your relief Gary found a moment before the third mission to drop by and whisper the content of the received hint.
-It said ‘musician’. – He muttered in your ear and squeezed your arm gently while passing by casually.
Although you could see no one around, you were acting cautiously anyway. One should stay alert at all times. Running Man is a battlefield and anyone can turn out to be your enemy.
As you entered the hall, mentally preparing yourself for the next mission, you became quite sure what you were bound to go through. And you couldn’t say you were looking forward to it. You were asked to take a sit in a cozy chair at a round coffee table. Another chair opposite yours was left unoccupied for the moment. Everyone else was sat on a couple of sofas at some distance. You could just sigh when a member of staff approached you to attach a pulse measuring device to you.
After determining your current heart rate PD set a goal number for the Running man team. They would take turns striving to quicken your heart rate the best they could. Then, the highest results of each member would be added up. To win the sum should to exceed the target number. After a couple of jokes the game started shortly.
It began easy. Sukjin tried to play a role of a sleek womanizer. He made some greasy comments and hoary jokes causing your heart rate to plummet and bringing goosebumps up your arms. Then it was time for the second easy brother. At first, Kwangsoo wanted to act it out cool and classy pretending to be your caring boyfriend. But after a few failed attempts he abandoned his hopeless plan and started performing slapstick comedy. Good laughter quickened your pulse a bit.
Jaesuk tried to persuade Gary to be the next one to challenge the mission but he refused strongly faking to be extremely shy in front of you. You smiled to yourself making a mental note to remind him of his presumed modesty the next time you would be in private. So Jaesuk then turned to Jongkook and pushed him to be the next. Under the pressure of other members Commander tried a new strategy and exploded with aegyo making both of you extremely awkward even before Jongkook finished his cutish performance, second-hand embarrassment cooling your blood and dropping your heart rate even lower than usual. The next contestant was Jaesuk. He took off his glasses right away, ready for a serious battle. He was silly and charming. Although you tried your hardest not to laugh, you couldn’t help but crack up a couple of times. So far, Jaesuk succeeded the most in making your heart flatter.
This time Haha approached your table. He took on his favorite role of a bad boy acting arrogant and spiteful, exaggerating showily and hilariously. It already became obvious that amusing you was the quickest way to your heart. Donghoon’s little act managed to come dangerously close to the grasshopper’s record. You needed to get a hold of yourself, it was just a start, the hardest test still laid ahead, drawing as near as it could. Only if you could withstand the threat of the next few minutes… You were pretty confident about the final race, having Gary on your side, you had all chances to win today’s prize. Writers were hinting at something truly remarkable.
Finally, there was nowhere for Gary to run. He got up tittering nervously and moved to the chair, that now seemed to be placed too close to yours. You braced yourself for the upcoming ordeal; why a small talk with your husband-to-be became such a tricky business all of a sudden? Preparing to think about the first lonely years after you moved to Korea you wished to distract yourself from anything he may say or do. But that was not enough; indeed, nothing was.
The moment your eyes met your pulse skyrocketed, jumping up 40 points. A swirl of memories came rushing into your mind. How you first met during a photo shoot, his silly jokes to break the ice and awkward postures in front of the camera; you, thinking it was just another piece in the kaleidoscope of acquaintances. Then, a mere month later, how you happened to walk into the same cafe in Hongdae he chose to drop by minutes before. You caught a glimpse of him at a far table near the wall, judging it unlikely for him to recall your name and unnecessary for you to foist yourself on him. You promptly got preoccupied with the menu. By the time you sited yourself with your order beside the window you seemed to forget all about his presence, until he reached for the vacant chair, placed at the other side of your table. Only then you realized that you had been waiting, that your whole day would have been ruined if he hadn’t approached you, that you unwittingly fell in love on the day of the photo shoot. His hand was resting hesitantly at the back of the chair, fingers tapping, eyes asking, the cherished memory in your mind echoing the scene before your eyes.
-What! He didn’t do anything yet. – Haha leaped off his seat drawing his hand through his hair. – Fishy! That’s fishy, I tell you. Can we put another of these pulse-measuring things on Gary? Something’s definitely going on here.
That “something” was hard to miss. Just an instant passed and Gary’s face was ripe tomato red up to the tips of his ears, your heart was persistently pushing its way up to your mouth for everyone to see. Without a helpful device at your wrist you would have never guessed that the plain sight of him still sent your heart into a frenzy after all these months, dates, and intimate moments. That’s not healthy. Why hadn’t your heart burst yet? Could it be that the exposure to your loved one was slowly killing you?
-Dating! They are dating. – Jaesuk bawled pointing at both of you in turn. – Just look at them. Oooh, how come we didn’t notice it before.
Gary mumbled a few incoherent words, apparently intended for his own ears, unable to contradict the truth. You also just blankly gaped at other members, the moment was gone, the drapes were raised. It seemed like you lost today’s game, yet there was no disappointment, you felt rather relieved. No more, you didn’t have to avoid looking at him, to pretend to be distant with him, to dread to stay near him. You could belong to each other again, the way it was supposed to be.
You laughed beautifully, candidly and locked your eyes with him, shrugging. He answered with his laughter and his gaze, sharing in your relief. What need of victories and prizes did you have anyway?
-The thing is, – Gary cleared his throat, glancing at other Running Man members with certain shyness. – I wanted to make public my engagement with this charming lady and also, officially announce that we are planning to hold our marriage ceremony in 3 months. I…
Gary had no chance to finish his little speech as the room erupted with clapping and hooting, congratulations and encouragements.
-Wait! Wait! I still have a few words to… – He struggled to raise his voice over the collective yammer.
-Ki~iss! Ki~iss! – Jaesuk started the chant; a simple word was quickly picked up by everyone around you.
There was nothing else to do for Gary but laugh happily in defeat and follow the wise advice. He embraced your waist with both hands, strong and confident, pulled you closer and ignited your lips with a passionate kiss, not carrying if the show will be rated R. Well, at least in your opinion, that was a pretty satisfying ending of the episode.

I do not think that Loco would be jumping to conclusions all too fast as well as I do not think he would notice you in the huge crowd of people unless you said you were going to turn up. In that case, Loco would be scanning the faces to pick yours out.
But let’s say, he knew you’d come or he did see you. He would notice you talking and laughing with a guy whom he didn’t recognize and he would feel a bit weird but he wouldn’t think much of it because first, he’s on stage, performing and being into whatever he was doing, second, well he doesn’t expect you to live in a vacuum and have no contact with people. If he saw the guy (i.e. your cousin/brother) hugging you, Loco would be dumbfounded and really pissed. Not only his girlfriend is being too close to someone else but she’s literally “cheating” in front of his eyes. He might even skip a couple of his lines too busy wrapping his head over the situation. You’d definitely have to explain everything to him right after the concert before he found his friend alcohol and together they make a scene halfheartedly listening to you.
Can I request for a Jay Park imagine where you have to babysit and asked him to tag along
“Oh, baby, I’m so sorry. I’d really like to go and help you but my head hurts so much right now. O-o-oh, can you kiss my temple to soothe the pain? What? No, seriously, I do want to go, why wouldn’t I want to help you babysit, ha-ha-ha.”

Loco would be frozen at first being caught off guard for several seconds just staring at you but then without making a lot of fuss other than almost running into the door frame quickly turn his back and calling out an apology leave the room. He would be a bit embarrassed as it is just the beginning of relationship but he wouldn’t make a big deal about it. He might shyly smile for the rest of the day when he sees you and apologize again if he’d see that you were concerned about the whole situation.
