I went to visit a friend in Calera, Alabama. Which is Alabama country. I saw Queen Anne’s lace & Black-eyed Susans on the side of the road. This is a very cool place. They have an antique store, a gift shop that has EVERYTHING & the flowers. oh, and the shop cat. A great place to spend an hour & some money. The address is 2979 Hwy 119,  Montevallo, Alabama 35115. Its privately owned & operated. #buylocal

Here are the fake flowers in the gift shop…which has clothing, Christmas stuff, Soaps, Alabama & Auburn football stuff, jewelry, cutting boards, mugs, etc.

free art at your local farmer’s market

The free art part involves your camera. The colors of the flowers, fruit, veggies & people are so vibrant, it’s hard to take a bad photograph. Great photos for your instagram account or whatever social media you like best. Besides, its very important to support your local farmers. You cannot find fresher food than at your local farmer’s market. #buylocal

My Chameleon daughter

This is my 17 year old. I’ve not been able to get her to let me take her photos for a long time. I think the last time she did it, she was 14 or 15. So i am grateful for her to give me the time. As she is very busy with friends & work this summer.

the unthinkable happened today!

I go my 14 year old son to sit for one minute, thirty seconds for photos!!? It was a battle. I won! He did get cocky (see his funny expressions) & i had to push him back down to the stool when he tried to escape (he is 7″ taller than i am).

I sent a text to my best friend, “I’m going to try to get Henry to let me photograph him. If i don’t make it, have a good life” WORTH it.

I know what you’re thinking…Om. She is going to write about meditation. Yeah, you’re right, i am. I am one of those people who suffer from chronic pain, which is bloody exhausting. This beautiful puppy is Oliver. This photo was taken a few days after i adopted him from The Greater Birmingham Humane Society. There are vets that offer your adopted pet a free first check up. I showed this funny Harry Potter scar on the top of Oliver’s head. The vet said it was nothing. He was so very wrong. I noticed Oliver had started losing his fur around his eyes. I found these mannequins at the consignment shop, Zoe’s in Forest Park. Their clothes are wonderful. Every time i visit, i feel as though i am a little girl, going through my grandmother’s closet. There are everyday clothes, business attire & little black dresses. Hidden among the everyday, are very old fancy clothes.
