With the 30th Anniversary of Evangelion, SH Figuarts has finally announced a Shinji Ikari for their line of action figures! I am so hyped!!!

Love that 14 year old child soldier protagonist from a series made by a mentally ill, 30 year old weeb who challenges standard views on masculinity and gender which has brought them hate from internet dudebros who flanderize them into a “crybaby” despite being far more complex and less of a pushover than given credit for and has a complicated relationship with three women in his life spurred on by his dead, morally ambiguous mother who haunts the narrative, yet longed to understand humanity, while going through an arc of self loathing, depression and self acceptance while enduring traumatic experiences and does outright repulsive things at his lowest moments which only furthers the discourse around his character and has been compared to Jesus Christ by some.
