To say she wasn't listening would be a complete lie. 352 heard and cataloged everything. It was what she was programmed to do. The android could repeat everything that was said and done around her from the time she had first been activated, barring any commands to remove information from her banks. So, she knew exactly what Kellan and BB were talking about the entire time they were out, but that wasn't what she was focused on.
The exact curve of Kellan's smile was always interesting to calculate, as was the number of lumens of light that was reflected in her eyes. Trying to match the shade of her skin to any other was a challenge that she still hadn't beaten, even with hours of watching it shift and fade to another and how odd was it that she actually cared to figure these things out for herself.
352 frowned, puzzling over the fact for a moment before letting herself be distracted once more as Kellan came bustling over with a handful of flowers, chattering about one of the plants that seemed to keep the snow at bay. It generated its own heat, creating steam and a small patch that grew larger every year as its seeds spread across the ground. The patches were everywhere, a few feet across in spots across the valley they had decided to explore today. An odd occurrence, and the android found herself annoyed to discover that she didn't have any explanation for it besides the magic of the Isle.
Odd. She hadn't cared about magic before.
"352?" She blinked, focusing back on Kellan's smiling face, her skin a pale lavender. "Are you alright?"
That was a silly question. "I am working within the given parameters."
Kellan's expression turned fond and she shook her head a little. "What are you thinking about?"
The android blinked again, her brows furrowing the smallest amount. "You and your flowers." She responded, her eyes flickering back to the patches of flora beside BB, who seemed to be taking samples. He smiled and waved once he noticed her gaze. She raised a hand slowly, responding in kind awkwardly.
Her gaze returned to Kellan, who's skin had changed again. 352 went through her data banks, and once again couldn't find an exact match. Maybe she should just start naming them after the orol.
"352? You got lost again."
"I am right here."
"That's not what I meant." Kellan shook her head, chuckling as her skin changed some more. Interesting.
"I... enjoy you." The android said slowly, giving a tiny frown. "I should not do so," Kellan's skin changed again as she frowned and looked down. "but I don't want it to stop." Slowly, she reached out and brushed some of the snow from the orol's hair. "It is... pleasing." She watched as Kellan's skin changed again, pleased with the color. She was pleased as well. Good. "You make me malfunction, and I... like... it." The shade gained saturation, brightening until it seemed as if Kellan was glowing from it. "I like being with you." She said more confidently.
"You say that as if you're going somewhere."
352's expression didn't change, and she continued to brush the top of the orol's head as if there were still snow. "No." She said carefully. "But my processors must be fixed, and the feelings will go away." It wasn't something she wanted, it was a simple fact. If something was broken, you fixed it. 352 wasn't made to feel.
"Not if you don't want it to be. It isn't causing problems." Kellan reached up with a flower in hand, tucking it behind the android's ear, as 352 had done to her countless times. 352 stopped her brushing, slowly moving her hand to carefully touch the flower. The orol smiled broadly, happy with the result.
The android stood in silence before quietly saying a simple "Thank you."
