Massive #tbt: On this day 10 years ago, and independent documentary called "Just For Kicks" premiered at Tribeca Film Festival. The film, written and directed by Thibaut de Longeville, was the first documentary dedicated to sneaker culture, and has been held as a cult classic ever since.

In 2006, when invited to create a film honoring Nike’s Air Max 1 and its connection to Parisian culture, director Thibaut de Longeville recalled from previous conversations with Nike design guru Tinker Hatfield that one of the shoe's most innovative features had been inspired by the design of Paris's National Center for Arts and Culture, the Centre Georges Pompidou. 

This unknown yet inspiring story was revealed in the short film “Respect The Architects, The Paris Air Max 1 Story” and has been a key reference ever since for anything #airmax. Full story + video on: http://bit.ly/1BVWmX3

#waybackwednesday in 2008, Nike celebrated the 25th anniversary of its best selling sneaker: the Air Force 1. Not only a track and a video with rap music heavyweights Rakim, Nas, KRS-One, Kanye West and legendary beatmaker DJ Premier were made (watch video dir. by Thibaut de Longeville above) but it also led to a documentary on the iconic shoe which premiered in 2010.

4 years ago, Hennessy invited Thibaut de Longeville to document its 2010 “Hennessy artistry” event series, curated by Grammy award-winning band The Roots and trailblazing recording artist Q-Tip.

  The concert series featured a star-studded cast of performers, including music icons Chaka Khan, Ron Isley (The Isley Brothers), Bobby Brown, Erykah Badu and Ice Cube as well as hot new talents such as Jay Electronica, Mike Posner, Daniel Merriweather and more.

Thibaut de Longeville and 360 Creative have significantly contributed to "Nas: Time Is Illmatic", the documentary dedicated to Nas' 1994 debut album "Illmatic", regarded by many as the greatest Hip-Hop album of all-time. Thibaut provided eye-catching cinematography for the film, and our camera crews captured essential footage of Nas performing which are used throughout the film as well as the film's trailer.

The film premiered at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival this spring with critical acclaim, and is being released in theaters today October 2nd in cinemas in NY, LA and in 40 theatres across The U.S. Check out Tribecafilm.com/nas For more info.
