3D Printed Home Furnishings

The original Curtain Rail Clip was not only damaged but also of a poor design being weak with small cross-sections.

From an initial enquiry via. a Sketch, 3D Printing LEEDS firstly recreated the original in CAD and then thickened many of the dimensions to create a far stronger and durable product design.

3D Printed Lighting Stand LOCK

Replacement pressure blocks that lock the tube in position on these telescopic lighting stands. The 3D Prints were Solid and Extremely Strong and worked well for Compression and Friction to replace these parts which facilitated a huge saving as the only other solution as to purchase a new Lighting Stands !

3D Printed Scientific Instruments

These small segmented baskets were created from the clients initial sketches, remade in CAD for water-tight scaled 3D STL files. 5 of these [plus xtras] were made for use in development tests for the holding if electrical circuit boards suspending in washing solutions.

A two-part casing to protect a Projectors Remote Control Handset so that only the correct buttons may be pressed for ON and OFF. The Casing can be securely screwed closed and onto a wall.

This gearing improves the distribution of material to avoid any dead spots on small or irregularly-shaped items that could be caused by the axial combinations of centrifugal motion of a 1:1 Ratio gearing.

3D Printed Plastic Parts

The original Battery Cover Panel on these devices were loose or easily triggered to release when handled, which resulted in many Covers getting lost along with the batteries falling out!

3Dprinting LEEDS recreated the Panel in CAD and engineered the tolerances to be much tighter, close-fitting and a tight push-fit.

There were many Prototypes created and tests done to hone in on the exact sizing at this very small scale.

In the Photos here: prototypes above the ruler, finals below the ruler.

The result was better than the original for functionality.

3 of these [plus xtras :-)] were made as replacements for use in the busy Media TV and Radio industry they are used in.

These classic profiles were taken from the original Power Station Cooling Tower drawings, passed to us in SketchUp and remade in C4D for water-tight scaled 3D STL files. 15 of these [plus xtras :-)] were made for use on an Architectural Model as part of an Interactive Game Activity at Conferences.

Flexible 3D Printed materials items can be difficult to produce… but this Protective Packaging prototype turned out fantastically with a smooth surface and well-bonded layers result in a 95A Shore rating including the infill required to make it … 25mm speed.
