Okay I promise I’ll be back to my regular posting shortly (side note: if you don’t want my off-topic posts on your dash, block the tag “not omo”) but I need to talk about this, and this is my only social media where I feel comfortable talking about this.

I keep seeing this bullshit tradwife propaganda popping up everywhere (I believe it’s in part the result of how fucked the job market is rn) and I’m tired of pretending most of it isn’t just dom/sub kink dynamics with a misogynistic and racist coat of paint. It really pisses me off because 1) you’ve got these women on here petaling the tradwife aesthetic to young women on the internet, telling them “this is what you should want” and “you won’t have to get a job if you become a housewife” (btw being a housewife IS a job; why tf do you think nannies and house cleaners get paid??) and 2) I think a lot of these women don’t realize that NO, not every women on planet earth WANTS to be subservient to their partner. That’s just your kink girl 😭 (read more below cuz this got long)

One harmful thing about this that I never see anyone mention though is how framing it as if it’s NOT a niche kink and instead a lifestyle that all women should want and that ONLY women should want is SO goddamn sexist. I’ve always gotten this overwhelming notion from society that everyone thinks women should be subservient in relationships and istg people never talk about it the way I feel we should be talking about it.

I think a lot of people genuinely believe we left that shit back in the 50’s, but it’s still around. No, wanting to be submissive and obedient is not the natural “feminine energy” or the desire that every woman wants. That’s a kink, and it’s okay to have, but first of all, men can want that too, and second of all, framing it as if it’s not a kink is FUCKING WEIRD.

Like idk, I’m just so tired of seeing this notion that women never want to be dominant or in control in a relationship. It’s always “the man should propose”, “the man should open the door for you”, “the man should pay at restaurants” yada yada yada, as if no straight woman would ever want to do those things for her boyfriend? As if no straight man should ever want those things from his girlfriend?? The only place I ever see these ideals NOT being pushed is in BDSM spaces where women are dominant in a sexual way.

That makes sense of course, but I just get so sick of all the subtle ways in just NORMAL life that women are portrayed as always being meek and unable to do things for themselves. As someone who (fucking unfortunately) has a uterus, I HATE the insinuation that I’m somehow different from men, less capable than them, less intelligent, less leadership oriented, whatever, JUST because I don’t have a dick between my legs. When is society gonna stop treating men and women as two separate species with completely separate ways of thinking?? Hormones do affect things of course, but not in any way substantial enough to justify this bullshit.

Kinda got off track there, but I really do believe this all ties right back into the tradwife thing pretty clearly. All this tradwife bullshit propaganda about being “traditionally feminine”, as if that’s a fucking thing—as if housewives in the 50’s couldn’t have been strong and independent if they’d just been given the ROOM to be—makes me so frustrated. As if that time period is what we should be harking back to and not moving AWAY from.

I currently identify as genderfluid, but biologically speaking, I am female. And I have ambitions, strongly held beliefs, and ZERO desire to pump out babies for a man who tells me what to do with MY fucking life. That’s just how I am. It has nothing to do with my gender or my sexuality—I am only attracted to men; that doesn’t mean I want them controlling me.

Honestly, I even see it a little bit from LGBT people. When a tradwife says something weird and then someone replies “are the straight people okay?? hyuk hyuk” as if being attracted to men makes women WANT to be subservient to them??? Or the people that pretend you can “choose” to be a lesbian to not be “male centered”, whatever in the chicken fried fuck that means. That shit almost pisses me off more because I wouldn’t expect gay people to be misogynistic—but here we are I guess.

I fucking HATE the infantilizing ass messaging that these tradwife ppl put out too—that women have been “tricked into believing” that we want careers and education by “capitalism”. I hate the economy just as much as the next guy, but you don’t see me cowering away from the idea of building a life for MYSELF. You can take your cottagecore tradwife naturally feminine pregnancycore bullshit and shove it up your ass. I don’t want any part of it and I cannot stand being told that I don’t know what I want JUST because I’m not a man. Everyone who believes that horse shit can get the fuck off my blog.
