Some things I've baked/cooked so far this year.
1st, Chicken Tikka Masala which I made tonight, with homemade naan. My second time making this but is so damn good and not nearly as hard as it may seem.
2nd, molasses gingersnap cookies which are my great grandmas recipe! I'm was thankfully able to get the recipe before she passed away just very recently, and am so glad to be able to pass this recipe down my family even further.
3rd blueberry fritters, second time making a kind of donut and these ones were definitely better. The glaze was so unbelievably good. However they could've for sure been better, I did not anticipate how hard making donuts would be.
4th New York Cheesecake. Second time making this recipe, a little bit worse than last time I believe because I didn't let it set long enough? However still delicious. Had some extra condensed milk so decided to make a dulce de leche topping which was tasty as well. Cheesecake will forever be my favorite.
5th Carrot Cupcakes. I had originally planned on making a cake, but realized that cakes are very very hard. Cream cheese frosting is unsurprisingly my favorite. Carrot cake in general is always surprisingly good, I believe its mostly the nuts give it such a nice soft crunch?
Cooking/baking has been so so fun to learn and I encourage anyone who wants to learn to learn. If you're good at directions you've already figured out most of it ! If you ever are craving something as well, just look up the recipe! There's a good chance it's not nearly as hard as it may seem, and as someone who absolutely loves and is constantly craving food I learned that very quickly. I am still obviously very amateur but I'm so excited to learn more and make food for my friends eventually ^_^
