Hi. If you're still here and still interested, you may care to listen to my music podcast, which I've rebooted and hope to make a weekly thing of it. I'm starting it off relatively gently with some 80s "hits"; future episodes I've already got lined up will be a bit more chronologically and musically diverse. I think this one's not bad for something recorded at 3am.

Tumblr's partying like it's December 2018 again

I've been wondering for a while if there's still any point in me posting here, and, now that I see Tumblr going back to its old ways of censoring supposed "mature" content, I'm wondering that even more today.

I set up this account after Tumblr took it upon itself to terminate my previous two attempts at doing stuff here, with the idea being that I wouldn't post anything to it and would only reblog others. I was sick of taking the risk, let others take it. Bit harsh of me to say so, perhaps, but that's how it was/is.

I thought that this way I could post whatever I liked and Tumblr wouldn't punish me for it cos it was all from other people; I wasn't actually posting anything myself so Tumblr couldn't punish me for any of it this time. But now they're doing it anyway.

I have nearly 750 posts in my queue, about 1 in every ten of which is now marked "potentially mature", and a number of others I've already posted marked as definitely "mature". Tumblr has also taken the liberty of hiding these posts even from myself, not just everyone else. Looking through my queue, I am surprised by some of the stuff Tumblr hasn't flagged, but I suppose they'll get around to that eventually.

Anyway, given that the bot accounts are still thriving and so are the far-right/fascist ones (whose potential influence is immeasurably more corrosive and dangerous than any of the "adult" accounts I've reposted), Tumblr has suddenly become even less friendly and I find myself disinclined to post any more here. I'll leave this up, and I'll still look in on the folks I'm following, and I'll leave the queue in case I do decide to start posting here again, but I'm kind of "urgh" about the old place right now (and don't see it improving).

Accordingly, I'll otherwise be focusing on my "proper" blog (this one having always been a sort of side project) which can be found HERE, if you feel inclined to check it out.
