“I’ve said this before about Kurt and Blaine, and I’ll continue to happily say is as long as it goes on — it’s amazing to see aspects the reality of my life memories mirrored on a television show in such a prominent, mainstream way. Kurt and Blaine didn’t go to some Babylon-style gay club (that too, is an important experience) because they’re in small town Ohio, and the drag queens weren’t over the top one-liner characters and the men weren’t in underwear only. Gay life isn’t a circus on Glee, it’s two older men snuggled in an alcove at the one place their might feel themselves near their town. It’s kids leaving a place and feeling like they were home, and wanting to stay forever, and being brave enough outside it’s doors (even when it’s misguided and booze-fueled) to start taking risks. For every failing of Glee, I come back to this and it makes me so excited for a future colored by its influence.”
