Took the Lawman Boss 429 engine to WesTech Performance Group in California a week or so ago with my good friend Brian Duffee. Brian’s shop, Duffee Motorsports in Glendale Arizona, had just completed a complete rebuild of the Lawman’s original 800 mile Boss 429 engine. Machinist Pat Deichert did a masterful job revitalizing the bottom end and Brian worked some magic on a pair of NOS Boss 429 heads to enable the motor to reach a rev limited peak HP of 854.1hp at 6600rpm and 704 lb/ft of torque at 5400rpm. At only 6600rpm and a max boost of 8.9lbs there’s way more in this motor. The curve just kept going up. No point pushing it further as it had already proved itself nicely.
