My birthday came and went and I did nothing; I felt nothing. I have been numb since May. I have gotten so much better at pretending that I am okay and happier and better, but realistically, I am drunk every night (usually by myself). I am emotionally drained from this semester. I have unstable friendships. I miss my sister. I can’t talk to anyone about how my depression is acting up because no one understands. Everyone wants to find a fucking solution to an imaginary problem. “What caused this?” I wish I could tell you, but it’s just a chemical imbalance. I can’t pinpoint what overwhelms me so much I shut down and begin to feel nothing.
