yesterday's concert was great but so few people outside of the "core" fan base wanted stickers lol among those who did, many didn't seem to know what the stickers represented beyond "y.lvis" like what do you mean you don't know the song they made for a semi-niche award show and distributed nowhere else

on the plane, i misheard the meal options as "pasta, vegetarian or beef meatballs?" and was a bit disappointed when the meatballs didn't come on pasta

also i knew the dutch were proud of their cheese, but i gotta say, i wasn't expecting every part of the royal dutch airline's onboard menu to contain cheese. i'm half expecting the cookies to somehow contain cheese.

#note: i'm not a fan of cheese #they accidentally gave me 2 cookies due to where i was seated and i accepted both hehe #i haven't eaten either yet though #apparently i already talked about the cheese on here whatever you get to hear it again

yesterday in amsterdam i went to the zoo and they charged extra for maps so i was following the direction signs to try to find the bathroom, which i thought would be its own building, or maybe near the entrance of another? but the signs brought me to a large building and then past a butterfly greenhouse, down hallways that look more like they belong more in the back of a local government building than a public part of a public zoo, and into this dark room. with sea lions.

where there WAS a bathroom and it was gender-neutral, but it was so dark in the sea lion room and especially in the corner the bathroom was in that you can't see the sign actually pointing to the door, the door itself also hard to see.

i was going to be a good little tourist and take pics of everything i eat but i've had so little to eat over the past ~24 hours that i, perhaps against my better judgement in other ways, devoured this 7/11 samosa without thinking about it one bit

#the breakfast on the plane was a cheese pastry (i don't like cheese) and the dinner also had cheese in it #i tolerated a good portion of the dinner but the cheese taste occasionally came through :c

maybe my notes app watched movies list system is a bit broken because i put a ✨ next to movies if i particularly liked them, and the idea was that it's my initial reaction to the movie because if i change my mind later then it's probably because either something about the movie or something i heard after stuck with me, so it'll be my lasting opinion and my initial one will be lost

which is great in theory, but when i need to jog my memory on a title or give a rec i end up looking for the ✨s, but i have ✨s next to some movies that had no lasting impact and no ✨ next to some that did

it'd be easy to add another icon, but i like how simple it is, so the only other icons i've used are 🐰 for david lynch's rabbits and :'c for the international cut of sorcerer

put on slimecicle playing unloop as background because i've got stuff to do but once again i am fully engrossed in the slimecicle vod because he can solve the puzzles but not without making it so much harder than it needs to be and good grief does it get hard to breathe in parts

i've got like 5 hours in amsterdam (after taking out time for getting out of and back into the airport) are the botanic garden and/or zoo worth it or should i just look at canals for 5 hours

i kept falling asleep in the second half of the movie so i'm not really sure what was going on but the main character sure did go on a rampage and started beating people up and shooting them and stuff so it was probably pretty cool

while i'd figured that a character had died through inference and context clues (there was a funeral for them), i'd missed their death and, perhaps more importantly, the reveal of who killed them. the ending makes a lot more sense with this information.

it wasn't that cool though. it was mostly a regular revenge killing spree. there's a slight twist to it, and the movie as a whole fulfills what you'd want from a spy movie, but imo it doesn't do anything particularly new or interesting even for 1982.

this is the second movie i've watched where one of the characters says that bruno cremer is a good-looking guy. in both movies, it was a man who said it.

watching espion, lève-toi (1982) and bruno doesn't show up in this one until over halfway through

(we hear him a few times before then though)
