Queen Akili: Soul Music’s Newest Angel
Akili joined The Mafia in 2014. Bold, sweet, humble, and talented are words that best describe Akili. Now we’ll take a look inside The Mafia’s reigning Queen.
The Mafia finds its Queen
Akili joined The Mafia as the only female on a team full of men, and without worry and struggle, Akili made her mark on the team. When Akili joined the team, The Mafia was on the verge of putting out its “The Best of 4AcesEntertainment So Far Part 3″ and wanting to introduce the world to the new queen, Mo went after Akili for the project. So in 2015, Akili dropped her first single with The Mafia “The Burn”, which instantly became a fan favorite. After the release of the project, Queen Akili continued making waves via social media, after she began doing videos that showcased her talents as a pianist, guitarist and so much more.
Expanding the Territory
In 2016, early 2017 Queen Akili began expanding her territory. She joined the band “The Camel Tones”. She also began starring in plays as well as performing at the legendary “Cafe Beyu” located in North Carolina. 2016, marked a big change for The Mafia, with everyone from Yae Bishop to Deron Tyrell to Uno dropping music, eyes instantly turned when Akili returned to music. In mid-2016, Akili released “Poetry” and “T.I.F.U.” which instantly became fan favorites and then as a sign that she was here to stay Akili dropped “UNIVERSE” which was bold and daring as we’ve always seen from Queen Akili. Bold, sweet, humble, and talented once again are words that describe Akili. This beautiful queen is making an impact on not only young black women but Black America as well as she continues to show it’s okay to be different in a world full of followers.
