I just felt like typing and discussing what is going on in life. I woke up at 6am-ish all on my own and well rested. I figured I had nothing else to do.
Steven and I have been watching and catching up on new seasons of The Chosen in our down time together. I love, love that show. It is so moving and so life changing to watch the Bible. It is so intimate to do it together.
He has been working endlessly outside to upgrade a lot of stuff. We have a new bridge now, and it looks so good. He started painting our apartment building black and cedar to match. He now wants to sand our black window frames on the house to cedar. I agreed. It looks so good on the building.
We wanted to sand and paint our deck this year the same way- black on the sides with fresh cedar on top. However, I believe we are going to wait until next year. We want to get a new pool, so we will probably just do the whole area together.
We are planning to add charcoal rock around the bottom of our house. I think that will be the change I love the most.
We ripped carpet up in our screen room and are going to be redoing our screen and adding in new blinds and curtains. We want to add a fireplace or heat of some sort to make it our official dinning room.
I will never regret going with a dark but Earthy vibe inside. We both love having all the plants inside. I desperately need to remember to get plant food, though. Oops. lol
I started new medicines that have me feeling sooooo much better. All of my tummy pain is gone, along with all the bloating. I could cry happy tears. I asked for prayers and prayed about it myself, and we got an answer as well as help. I am so blessed and thankful. I believe I am going to start working out with Steven again soon.
Our boy seems to be having a great Summer. He’s already been to Soaky Mountain and Lake Stephen’s, and he gets to go to Ace Adventures this week. He spent a few days with his grandparents, and boy does he love his papaw. His friends have been down a bit to swim. Most days I swim with him. This past weekend we had a pool day just the three of us. He loves his momma but really loves it being the three of us. We are still waiting to hear back from his Gifted application.
I am slowing down on work a lot. I don’t need to as much now that Steven has his electrical. I am not upset about it. Haha. I am sure things will pick back up in Fall. I can’t believe I’ve been working for myself for almost a decade now. I am constantly so proud of myself for building my own business from scratch. I am also always thankful college never worked out. I am so happy with where I am and what I do. I truly think working in a hospital all my life would have made me miserable, given what I went through.
I was reminded last week yet again why I grew up the way I did. I had to learn so many hard lessons in order to help someone else one day. I had to know what it was like to need to find refuge with someone else so that I can provide refuge. I am also so thankful I still have my people to turn to and ask advice. It still doesn’t mean my heart isn’t heavy for the entire situation and that I wish it didn’t even exist. I’m just glad I am equipped with the tools I have. I really see why I was built and shaped this way. I not only am breaking the cycle inside my own home but am helping others who are in it. It’s hard, though.
I hit a deer with my car, and I managed to snag an Audi Q3 as my rental car. I am obsessed with it. My husband said he is sold on performance SUVs. He said there is nothing like moving quick in such comfort. We might get one some day. I do miss my little blueberry. She did everything for me besides press the pedal. Haha. She has spoiled me and made me lazy while driving. I’m just use to her and miss her bright and happy color. My rental does make me want another white car too, though. Bahaha.
If anyone ever read my old blog posts when I first got with my man, they would know I always bought him tickets to things as gifts. My love language is time, after all. We got Lincoln tickets for his birthday, and I am dying to tell him. Just like I was always dying to tell Steven his gifts. I get so excited and can’t contain it. Steven has been making jokes ever since I hit confirm purchase about me telling the big secret. Hahaha. I just love that our boy loves music as much as we do.
I only read two books in June. I have been outside by the pool if I am not cleaning or working. I am, however, still doing great at my reading challenge. I don’t have much at all on my work schedule for July and August (I wanted more time with my son this Summer), so I am going to try to get a few things read. I have a massive book to read this Winter that will slow my book count. I love, love big books, though.
