"Watcha think Gotham or Camp Jupiter?? Cause I feel like both have traumatizing qualities."
@localbatburgerworker
Camp Jupiter. I miss it a lot.. and this place is so weird and dangerous.
Oh, damn, were you staying at brother where it's so dangerous??
Gotham in general I think.
Go to a BatBurger or any fast food place you got a good chance of a vigilante being around, and vigilante adoption is for some reason a big thing here.
I.. don’t think I need to be adopted by a vigilante.
Reblog this if you want a slightly ominous compliment in your inbox

Genuinely disappointed I had to add this to my accounts but it’s become a serious issue recently.
From now on if you follow or interact with my blogs and have a MDNI or 16+ label I won’t warn you before blocking you. It makes me super fucking uncomfortable.

Ziggy would be the one to wake Jason up. The kitten leapt up onto his chest, sniffing at his eyes before moving to lick at the lids with his small, sandpaper-y tongue.
- @redhoodguythethird
(Don’t know if you want to keep going with this one, but I thought I’d send this in case you did. If not then no worries!)
[Jason squinted, gently pushing Ziggy away from his face with a quiet chuckle.]
Good morning to you, too.
[He sat up, one had under Ziggy so he didn’t go tumbling down onto his lap.]
Jay was up making breakfast, something quietly simmering on the stove. “How’d you sleep?”
Ziggy watched Jason with big brown eyes, his tail flicking despite his loud purr.
Actually.. pretty good, for a demigod.
[He shrugged, putting his glasses back on.]
“Good! You want some baked beans or just toast or…?”
Ziggy quite happily plopped himself back down into Jason’s lap
Oh, uhm. Just toast, thanks.
[Jason smiles, gently petting Ziggy. He still was amazed by how little the cat was.]
Jay put some bread in the toaster and pushed it down. “Got anything to do today?”
[Jason shrugs again, using one hand to scoot into a fully sitting position on the couch.]
Not really sure, honestly.
“I would suggest trying to figure out either how to get home or how to make money,” he said. “You’re welcome here as long as you want, but I can’t imagine you want to stay on my couch for the rest of your life.”
Yeah.. I don’t think I can get home. It’s not like there’s gonna be much for me there, anyway, they think I’m dead.
[He carefully picks up Ziggy, holding the cat against his chest sort of like a baby.]
So job it is.
“Well, if you want to keep with the hero stuff, I think there’s some young hero initiatives or something around somewhere in the country. If you get sponsored, I’m sure you’d be set, but if you want just a normal civilian job, I could probably help you out a little with that,” he said, turning off the stove and buttering the toast.
The kitten squirmed a little, but settled quickly in Jason’s arms, his eyes still fixed on his face.
“Oh and be careful he doesn’t jump at your hair. He’s gotten me across the nose before.”
Not sure how I’d get a civilian job with my.. complete lack of records anywhere except my bird certificate and a less than half complete high school diploma. That and my face is probably in a few police reports over the years.
[He said, eying Ziggy cautiously.]
My.. hair?—
“Any police reports will be in a different world, bud. Clean slate here. And I’ve got ways to get you a job or anything like that, don’t worry.”
Jay glanced over with a knowing look at the stare on Ziggy’s face, the cat’s tail swishing back and forth. The kitten lifted a paw.
Different world. Right.
[Jason just pressed his pointer finger to the pad of Ziggy’s paw in an attempt to distract the cat from his hair.]
Ziggy immediately shifted his attention to the finger, swatting at it instead.
"Any idea what kind of job you'd want?"
[Jason gently swats back with his single finger, playing along with Ziggy.]
I’ve honestly never had time to think about it, yknow? Even when I was little I didn’t really have a ‘when-I-grow-up job.’
"Well, you got time now." Jay sat down beside him, swapping the cat out for a plate of toast. "There's no rush to figure it out, either. Just think about it, let me know when you settle on something."
[Jason’s eyes follow Ziggy but he quickly turns his attention to the toast.]
Yeah.. guess I do now.
[He says slowly, taking a bite of toast.]
"...I'm sure there's plenty of stuff you can do if you get bored, but um..." Jay clicked his tongue. "If you wanted, you could come out with me when I go vigilante-ing. It's a little different from fighting monsters, but you know."
[Jason nods, taking another bite of toast.]
I’d have to get a new weapon.
[He notes.]
Jay waved it off. "That one's easy. What kind do you prefer?"
[He shrugs yet again, finishing a piece of toast.]
I like my sword. Probably not helpful here, though.
"You'd be surprised," he said, taking a bite of his own breakfast before gesturing with his spoon. "The main thing is just being intimidating. Worst comes to worst, you disarm. I use guns, a couple others do too, but most of the vigilantes in the city don't, so I'm sure you'll be fine."
[Jason nods along, eying the second piece of toast hesitantly.]
The winds will probably be a big help.
He made a noise around his mouthful. "I forgot you could fly. Shit."
Jay ran a hand down his face before waving his other. "That's not a problem, just- for some reason I totally forgot about your powers."
Yeah, I forget too, sometimes.
[Jason tilts his head slightly.]
Isn’t Batman sorta.. against powers or something?
"Nah, that's just a rumor. And even if it wasn't, he's already sorta against me, so... it's fine," he said. "Also, one of his kids slash vigilantes is basically a living flashlight, so he'd be a hypocrite if it was true."
Oh, uh. The yellow one, right?
[Jason guesses hopefully, wracking his brain for old mental screenshots of the comics he’d read when he was just a kid.]
Dames? Dexter? No..
"Duke Thomas. Or Signal, is his hero name."
Yes, that’s it.
"You don't have to come out," Jay clarified. "Just- I know sometimes that there can be that itch."
‘An itch’ is one way to say it..
[Jason hummed, subconsciously glancing out the window.]
"I'll get you a sword and then you can come out with me whenever you want to." He patted Jason on the shoulder as he got to his feet. "In the meantime, there's plenty of TV, or games, or whatever."
[Jason hums, thinking it over carefully.]
@redhoodguythethird
“I dunno if they work for you here, but I’m sure there’s something you can do,” he said. “I’m heading out to the shop, you want anything?”
Uh. No, thanks, though.
[He offers a small smile, pushing his glasses back up.]
Jay grabbed his jacket and headed for the door. “Just don’t let the little man pee anywhere he’s not supposed to and you’ll be fine. I’ll be back soon.”
Right, yes. Thanks.
[He turns his attention back to Ziggy, raising a brow in mock suspicion.]
The kitten was staring at Jason's hands now, ears back and tail swishing. He started wiggling his butt, like he was about to pounce.
[Jason laid his eyes on his hands, too, noting the lack of some scars he distinctly remembered having. He shrugs the thought off, moving his hand a bit closer to Ziggy, wiggling his fingers.]
Ziggy leapt on it in a blink, biting at Jason's fingers and scratching at his wrist with his back legs
[Jason pulls away again slightly, but just enough to pull Ziggy along.]
The kitten dug his claws in a little and tried another bite, tail wagging back and forth
[Jason flinches but doesn’t pull away, just furrows his brows slightly and tries not to smile as he shakes his hand a bit.]

@redhoodguythethird
[He notes.]
