4-in-a-row no.148: “Natura Artis Magistra”
4-in-a-row no.147: “Soweto”
4-in-a-row no.146: “Mozambique”
4-in-a-row no.145: “Trees @South Africa & Swaziland”
4-in-a-row no.144: “The BIG 5 @Kruger Park” (yes, that’s 1 more than normal)
4-in-a-row no.143: "Visiting Indian schools" - I had the chance to visit quite some schools in suburbs of big cities in India. Often we were welcomed with special ceremonies. I was there on behalf of the Nyenrode New Business School to see how the collected funds were being spent. And I must say: they have been spent in the right way. A lot of less fortunate children have the opportunity to get education. I hope to see even more next year...
All pictures taken end of November 2014 in India (first 3 pictures are children from different schools in Pune, the last picture is the 'manager' of 2 schools in Nagpur).
4-in-a-row no.142: "People from Tuscany" - Tuscany is not that far from Amsterdam, but at age 33, this was my first time. I enjoyed the lovely little cities, the wines and the quality & quantity of food. Above you see some of the Tuscan people I thought looked interesting.
All pictures shot in September 2013 in Italy (Montalcino, Montepulciano, San Gimignano, Pisa).
4-in-a-row no.141: "The Yacht Week - part 2" - not only boats and fun, but also beautiful girls from all over the world. And I had to take pictures of them. Take me back!
If you’re interested in having a week like this (as a non-photographer that is), check http://www.theyachtweek.com/ for trips to Thailand, British Virgin Islands, Greece, Croatia and Italy.
All pictures taken in August 2014 in Croatia (somewhere in between Hvar and Split)
4-in-a-row no.140: "The Yacht Week - part 1" - this summer I had the best job in the world: photographing during The Yacht Week. People from all over the world gathered in Croatia for lots of sailing and parties. Blue/green waters, little sleep, a lot of laughs, the coolest peeps and (maybe a bit too much) wodka pretty much sum up this unforgettable week.

4-in-a-row no.139: "Views in Eastern Europe" - this summer I went to visit some nice cities in the East. As I was alone on this trip, I focused less on portraits, but more on 'views' and 'sights', with the ones above I try to describe the corresponding cities: industrial Belgrade, Serbia (1), chillin' Lake Ohrid, Macedonia (2), colourful Tirana, Albania (3) and cultural but bustlin' Athens, Greece (4).
All pictures taken in July or August 2014 in Eastern Europe.
4-in-a-row no.138: "Graffiti in Belgrade" - this city is full of coloured walls, some are fun (1), some intriguing (2), some not that beautiful (3) and some are a hommage to a known person (I think) (4). They definitely bring even more life to this gray but bustling city.
All pictures taken in Belgrade in July 2014.
4-in-a-row no.137: "Men in Sri Lanka" - people in this country are pretty tall, a lot taller than their neighbours from India or in South-east Asia. That's pretty much all I can say about this 4-in-a-row. Oh yeah, they're pretty nice and welcoming as well.
Pictures taken in Sri Lanka (Mirissa, Kegalle (http://www.millenniumelephantfoundation.com/), unknown, Jaffna) in December 2013.
4-in-a-row no.136: "Waiting for the train to come" - part of travelling through Sri Lanka goes by train. It's not fast, but it is definitely beautiful as you ride along lots of tea plantations.
All pictures taken in Sri Lanka (stations: Hikkaduwa, Kandy, Ella, Ella) in December 2013.
4-in-a-row no.135: "Adam's Peak or Sri Pada or Shiva Padam" - this holy mountain for Buddhists, Christians, Hindus and Muslims is around 5200 steps up and is visited by many local and international people due to the large foot print on the top. The Buddhists believe it is Buddha's foot, the Christians & Muslims that its Adam's foot and the Hindus believe it is Shiva's foot. From young children to 80+ year old pilgrims, all climb the mountain at night and watch the sun rise in the morning. The steps are accompanied with (Buddhist) flags. A must-do in Sri Lanka imho.
All pictures taken on and around Adam's peak in Sri Lanka in December 2013.
4-in-a-row no.134: "Beaches!" - Sri Lanka & Maldives are full of beaches, some more beautiful than others. Since weather seems to be shitty in The Netherlands from now on, let's just look at these pictures to dream of future holidays.
Pictures taken in December 2013 in Sri Lanka (Galle (1), Weligama (2), Negombo (3)) and on Maldives (Picnic Island (4)).
4-in-a-row no.133: "Buddhism" - Sri Lanka is largely Buddhistic, so you find a lotta nice temples with nice people around the big island. All the colours (and the bright white) make a pretty nice 4-in-a-row imho.
All pictures taken in Sri Lanka in December 2013 (first two in Anuradhapura, last two in Kandy at te Temple of the Tooth).
4-in-a-row no.132: "Jaffna bombed buildings" - the war between the Sinhalese and Tamils has left quite some buildings in debris. Jaffna is the capital of the Tamils, in the first picture you see the ruins of one of their former governmental buildings. A new building is actually built on the opposite side of the road. Churches and a lot of houses have bullets in their walls and some of the houses are completely intruded by trees and other greenery. Luckily, nowadays this small city with some nice islands closeby is safe and fun to visit again.
All pictures taken in Jaffna (Sri Lanka) in December 2013.
