The worst part about keeping a relationship private is that you canāt blast on social media about the little things that make you happy and you canāt tell the people who do know about it because you donāt want to over saturate them.
Show this photo to your daughters as they grow up.
Show them that courage is important, even in the scariest of situations. This woman stood up and faced her fears, spoke her truth in front of a group of men while balancing the world on her shoulders. She is a hero. She is a representation for all women who are done being assaulted and abused.
I Believe Dr. Christine Blasey Ford
Show it to them because our mothers didnāt show us this one:
Who is she? Anita Hill.Ā
Whatās she doing here? Testifying about the sexual misconduct of then supreme court nominee Clarence Thomas aka nowĀ the most senior justice on the Supreme Court.
Please Learn About Her
I may not have the best body but it sure does hold all my organs in place
this is the type of positivity i need.
āFor a brief time in the 70ās, our town was taken over by a cult.ā
How does anyone hate kids they are so funny I sold tickets to incredibles to this little girl and her mom and sheās like mom are we sitting next to each other and the moms like ya and the kid screamed YES so loud it broke my ears
The other day I was bringing an older gentleman up the hill in a golf cart and we drove past this huge YMCA group of kids like 100 kids and driving past the first chunk like 10 of them yelled out ālet me onā in unison and then since Iām driving so slowly to be safe, halfway in some kid leaned up and said ādo you play fortniteā and I told him I played a little and he just pointed and shouted āTHIS GUY PLAYS FORTNITEā and then like 20 kids started talking to me all at once about fortnite
A kid asked me if I lived in the ambulance. I said yes.

Intensity of feeling, which is at once your charm and your cross,

I had someone tell me that dislike of Umbridge is usually from ingrained sexism toward female villains. I kind of stared in shock ā I mean I love my lady villains. I love nasty female villains. I love sneaky and clever female villains. I love female villains that wrap themselves up in what the patriarchy expects of them and uses those expectations to smash someone upside the head.Ā
I tried to explain my hatred of Umbridge isnāt that sheās full of traditionally feminine attributes. Ā
Itās that sheāsĀ lawful evil.Ā
If you did an alignment chart, no one would represent lawful evil more than Umbridge. I donāt think thereās ever been a character that better sums up lawful evil.Ā
And, to me, lawful evil is the most terrifying and disturbing evil there is.Ā
To me, lawful evil is the shit that gets thousands of people killed while the person responsible walks away feeling like they did their duty.Ā
Evil forces like Bellatrix and Voldemort are fairy tales. Theyāre the bad guys a good guy can chase away with a sword or wand.Ā
Umbridge is that evil that really does lurk in the hearts of men (and women). The realness, the plausibility of it, makes her amazingly uncomfortable.Ā
So, yeah, I canāt get as excited about her as a fantasy book creation as easily as some other female villains. Not because sheās a woman, or because of her gender presentation, but because she represents a sort of evil thatās far, far too close to home.Ā
Voldemort is stereotypically scary, but heās a very unreal kind of scary. Umbridge is different. Everyoneās had an umbridge.
yes because lawful evil wraps itself in righteousness and oppresses you through approved systems and hierarchies that nobody is supposed to question
Okoye being a mood
I think aside from the Yikes factor, which I donāt really have the authority to address, the Nagini reveal is really emblematic of the problem Fantastic Beasts and most prequel films have. Namely, does it really matter?
And the answer is truly no. How does Nagini formally being a woman impact the later events of the Harry Potter universe? Is it a weakness of Voldemortās to exploit or a hindrance to the heroes? No, she accomplishes those things just fine as a normal snake. Is her involvement in the events surrounding Grindelwald important? No, because it wasnāt worth remembering, not by Dumbledore or Voldemort or anyone else. At the end of the day, this new information was not necessary, and therefore not worth the time to include in the original seven books.
And thatās whatās wrong about this whole Newt Scamander, Fighter for Dumbledore angle. Because the books and therefore the history and worldbuilding do not support it. Scrimgeour doesnāt tell Harry āyouāre Dumbledoreās man through and through, just like that Scamander blokeā because Harry was one of a kind to Scrimgeour, not just the update to a previously existing prototype. Thereās no chapter in Rita Skeeterās tell-all book devoted to Dumbledoreās special relationship with Newt, because it didnāt exist matter. Newt does not participate in the Order of the Phoenix or attend Dumbledoreās funeral, so whatever bond they have in these films does not survive. Which begs the question why any of it matters.
The characters of the Harry Potter Wizarding World do not know Newt Scamander for being a hero in the war against Grindelwald; they know him for being a magizoologist. Rowling can retcon it for these films, but she cannot go back and change the text she already wrote which shows just how unimportant of a story these five films must be to never even crop up as a footnote in Harryās story. When Newt was just a vehicle for the Beasts, that was fine. Harry is not Charlie or Hagrid, for whom Newt would have been a far more important figure.
But this push to have a Good vs. Evil conflict, and more importantly for a Cinematic Universe, renders Newtās revised story completely irrelevant because we know it was irrelevant to the characters of the future we were first introduced to and loved. If they never cared, why should we?
Tony has always defended himself through evasive manoeuvres, and never used shields. Yet in Infinity War, he is using shields left and right. (The only time he shielded himself was in Iron Man 1, when he opened flaps in his gauntlet, and that was because he down low on power and couldnāt fly away.)
Tony realised that the team has lost a āshieldā, so he took it upon himself to become one. He built a shield that could withstand the power of an Infinity Stone. Because he always knew the fight was coming, a bigger threat is on the horizon and he needed to be ready.
Meanwhile, Tony designed new shield for Cap (despite all the Civil War mess), newĀ āmagicā belt for Thor (despite not knowing whether Thor will return), ensured Hulkbuster was accessible to Bruce (despite Bruce being MIA) and built space-travel-safe spider-themed nano-suits for Peter (despite Peter not being an avenger yet).
take care of yourself today and every day :)
