So, @gothiccharmschoolâ, I wanted to let you know that you inspired my LARP costume (and my character, somewhat). Specifically, my LARP, Catalyst: the Lucid Dream, allows characters who are from an alternate-universe 1980s that⊠still mostly resembles our own. My initial idea was that I wanted to play someone who worked for TSR, Inc., on Dungeons and Dragons, but the idea wasnât quite complete.
Then I found the old photo of you working for Wizards of the Coast in the early 90s and went âWait, YES! Sheâll be a goth too!âÂ
So my costume was directly inspired by your look from your WotC days:
Iâm a LITTLE messy in that photo as Iâd been fighting dudes, and I donât have my makeup on, AND you canât see the really awesome sleeves of my shirt + my gloves because it was raining so I have a raincoat on. Iâve got a lace shirt over a tanktop, and then over that this kinda 80âČs wide-neck thing with these sort of transluscent cape sleeves, and then shoulder-length fingerless spiderweb lace gloves. You can kinda see how I usually do my makeup in this photo (no skirt in this one, still canât see my sleeves):
The big weird bag in the first photo is for holding spell components â she ended up a Ritualist, so I need chalk & string & all kinds of other stuff. The outfitâs interesting because it has to hit a nice point between â80s gothâ but also âthis needs to be practical for running around in the woods hitting people with a foam swordâ
Personality-wise⊠unfortunately sheâs kind of the opposite of you XD Sheâs a bit of a jerk who always speaks her mind. Very impolite. Whoops.Â
OH MY G-D THIS IS DELIGHTFUL. And I totally approve of âthis needs to be practical enough for running around in the woods hitting people with a foam swordâ.
I miss LARPing. No time for it these days, but I do miss it.
