I don’t get why Christians say that God hates gays. Doesn’t God love everyone? And doesn’t God know what that person is going to be like, even before they are born? God gives you your personality and the way you think. So HE KNEW THEY WERE GOING TO BE GAY AND HE MADE THEM THAT WAY. And he still created them, and created them like that. And also, to the Christians who say gays are bad and that they hate gays; Isn’t God supposed to be the only one that judges? And if you hate gays, then you are hating some of God’s creations.
Meet Janae Marie Kroc, Recently Out Transgender World Record Bodybuilder
“My story isn’t about being a man or a woman or being masculine or feminine. It is about being who you are and being comfortable and happy inside your own skin.”
Watch our full interview with Janae Marie Kroc here.
Coline Jenkins is fighting to get a statue of a woman included in Central Park. You can’t be what you can’t see, people. And kids aren’t seeing women who accomplished anything in our past, virtually anywhere.
Of the 5,193 public, outdoor statues in the United States. Guess how many are of women? 394
In Congress’ National Statuary Hall there are 100 statues. Women? Nine.
Stamps? Between 2000-2009, 206 people were honored on postage stamps, 43, less than 25%, women.
In Washington, DC, where you can’t swing a dead chicken without hitting traffic circle that no one knows how to drive around, 20 out of 29 are named after men.
And then, of course, there’s our currency. And, whether or not you think putting a woman on currency is a good idea, currency is still media real estate and among the most commonly viewed and accessed every day. The US has no women on its paper currency and, bowing to public pressure, the US treasury just announced that it would consider putting a woman on the not much used $10 bill - where she, whoever she is, will share a spot with Alexander Hamilton - leaving the god awful Andrew Jackson on the more common $20.
Not one national public holiday in the United States is named for a woman or recognizes a significant event tied to women’s accomplishment or equality.
Equal Visibility Everywhere matters.
Memphis police just posted this to their facebook page. Perfect.
It is not a crime to feel absolutely beautiful. It is not a shame to feel absolutely confident in what you believe in. The key word is YOU. It takes unlearning what you have been taught and relearning truth.

You know how little boys and little girls grow up playing with each other until suddenly around the age of four, they start to say “eww I hate girls/boys!!” Yeah? I have a theory about that… If you raise your child heteronormative, e.g. say “look at that, Marty already has a girlfriend! Do you wanna marry her?” when little three-year-old Marty plays with little Susie in kindergarten Or ask Susie to give her little boy friend a goodbye kiss, but scold her when she kisses her little girl friends as well Or say “Sweetie, girls don’t play with cars! Leave your brothers toys alone and get your dolls.” Or “Son, you can’t wear a princess dress for Halloween, real boys don’t do that!” Or do anything else that enforces the idea of gender binaries in your children’s unbiased minds and makes them think being friends with someone of the other gender is something dirty that grown-ups giggle about… Then what the fuck else do you expect? Kids grow up imitating their parents. If your son is mean to girls, it’s not because he has a crush on them, it’s because he’s learned from you that it’s okay to be mean to women If your daughter doesn’t even try to participate in math class, it’s not because she’s stupid or shy, it’s because she’s learned from you that girls can’t be good at boy stuff Raise your children to make their own decisions regardless of gender. Protect them from societal bias. Keep their minds free and open. Thank you.
BOOM.
Today someone was talking to me about how girls who don’t shave are gross and I said “well I mean I don’t really care what anyone does with their body. As long as it doesn’t negatively affect anyone else you should be allowed to do anything” in a nice, polite, way and she goes, “oh yeah. You’re a feminist. I forgot.” Like it was a BAD THING. I just want world peace and equality, sue me.
Check this out! They're amazing!
