Lmao reading Absolution. I love that the Southern Reach was originally a doll factory that was scrubbed and repurposed as a research facility. Its “redecoration” probably occurred the same year they began to formulate the first expedition. Could explain why the building is “weird” — ‘cause it wasn’t designed to be a research facility, and its interior design was likely only last updated in the 1980s when Central began to move in.

Also Lowry being really handsome but having a nervous tic that causes him to cuss profusely is kind of funny given how he’s portrayed in Authority. Amidst all the madness we learn he comes from a wealthy family of midwestern farmers.
