It’s vacation time, where are the arranged marriage au crew going? Who’s doing a joint trip with the other couples?
Ahh, Arranged Marriage AU, my beloved! It’s been awhile since I’ve written anything so I’m a bit rusty, but I hope you enjoy!
Of Tight Shirts & Chanel Perfume (Onew)
Whenever they get some free time, they absolutely love visiting their mountain cabin for a nice little getaway.
The place is probably a bit bigger than the average vacation cabin, but it’s by no means huge (it does come with a fair bit of land though.)
It’s a really cute and cozy place, having been built chalet-style with both the interior and exterior made almost completely out of wood logs and stone.
The cabin’s located in a rather secluded spot, which makes it the perfect place for a little ~romance~
There’s also a lovely wrap-around deck with a built-in hot tub, which they both really enjoy. And there’s a river that runs pretty much right next to the place, so they can enjoy a lot of other activities like swimming, sailing, fishing and, during the winter months, skating.
The property was actually kind of an impulse purchase. Jinki and Y/N had been fairly regular vacation renters for a few years, so when the owner (a lovely older lady) told them that she was going to be selling the cabin and retiring somewhere warmer, they didn’t even think twice and pretty much gave her the money right then and there.
Strawberry Kisses (Jonghyun)
Hmm, I think these two would really enjoy staycations.
Sometimes they’ll stay home and do a different day trip every day, and sometimes they’ll go somewhere a few hours away and experience everything the place has to offer.
Following an…interesting vacation experience involving a broken-down car, they now have a tradition where, every year, they’ll drive randomly or take the first bus/train they see and wherever they end up is where they spend their vacation.
This tradition has led to some really boring vacations, but also some really great ones.
Thanks to these trips, Y/N and Jonghyun have gotten really good at adapting to different situations. They’ve also learned how to make the best out of almost any situation.
Then Comes Love (Key)
Rather than just picking one specific destination, Kibum and Y/N’s vacations usually involve jumping between a few different places within a certain region.
They typically try to go to a new place for every vacation, but they do have a few favourites that they keep going back to (and if they really like a certain location, nine times out of ten they’ll eventually buy a house there.)
Whether they’re jet-setting across Europe or cruising the Caribbean, you just know Y/N and Key are doing it in style. Private jets, private yachts, five-star hotels, the whole nine yards.
It isn’t always glitz and glam though; they have taken quite a few “normal” vacations where, much like the Strawberry Kisses couple, they try to get the authentic experience of staying in whatever place(s) they’re visiting.
That being said, sometimes those “normal” vacations don’t always go so well (in fact, due to a somewhat disastrous stay in London during one of these trips, they now refuse to stay in bed and breakfasts.)
Mofrilelo (Minho)
You know how some people go on vacations to relax and unwind? Yeah, not these guys.
It is literally impossible for Minho and Y/N to sit around and do nothing while on vacation. Like seriously, if they wanted to spend their vacation just lounging around, they would’ve stayed home.
They’re not, like, going extreme rock climbing and riding jet skis every day, but you’d be hard-pressed to find them doing absolutely nothing (well, unless they need some time to recover from the aforementioned extreme rock climbing and jet skiing)
They also love getting the other couples together for joint vacations. It can be a bit difficult to work around everybody’s schedules, but they aim to do some sort of group trip at least once a year.
Midnight Musings (Taemin)
When this pair wants to take a trip, they either invite themselves tag along on one of the Of Tight Shirts & Chanel Perfume couple’s vacations, or go somewhere completely off-the-grid and nobody can contact them for like a week.
Seriously, nobody even knows where they go. Cottage in the forest? Amazon rainforest expedition? Exploring the Arctic Circle? It’s anyone’s guess.
To be honest, sometimes they don’t actually go anywhere. They just stay home, turn off their phones, and let everybody think they’re off in the middle of nowhere.
But shh, don’t tell the others.
