Issac hating it, it all feels so wrong. He enjoys being active but this isn't him. Issac realizing he's trans and thinking that he would be accepted amongst his peers, his friends
Issac instantly being shunned and ostracized, the bullying getting so severe that his family is forced to move
Issac's father only ever viewing it as him throwing away all of his potential for some "silly childish thought", his father blaming him for them having to leave their life behind, his father only ever viewing him as his "overly emotional daughter"
Issac having transitioned and trying to pass as much as he could before moving to Deadwood, Issac taking years to tell the upplings that he's trans because he can't go through that agian

Issac is absolutely the type to go back to his abuser, aka his dad. He loves the man despite how much trauma and pain he put him through. Despite not wanting to love him. He hates how often he comes back to the ritual site just to mourn him, to replay his last memory with his dad. Even if that was not his dad, but a monster. Even if the real one was too.
Issac would often go through their family albums that have polished happy memories for the guests to enjoy. Half of the photos didn’t have him included. Issac would often get in trouble even if it wasn’t his fault, but his dad didn’t care, he would lock him up. Mr Brooks preferred to take out his daughter somewhere like a mall anyway, why would he even think about Issac?
Issac never gets therapy. Even after his dad “dies” again, his mom does nothing. She stops talking about the topic of family. She doesn’t want Issac to suffer, but by ignoring the pain she makes it worse. Issac finds his own ways to cope, some of them are probably unhealthy, but he is happy now. Despite everything he will get out of Deadwood, right? At some point?

So I finished UPP like 2 weeks ago and I can't get out of my head how absolutely horrifying the car ride scene with Issac and his father was
The shift from "This feels off but maybe it feels off because of abuse or something" to "This is really fucking off and not in an abuse way" TO "Oh God, Oh fuck, Oh no" in my head was so impactful and I just loved that scene so so /so/ much
UPP has so many amazing scenes but that one is by far one of my favorites
Imagining Issac hearing the crash, running out to investigate because that's what he has to do, because if it's something strange then he has to be there
Thinking about him seeing his father's car, mangled and broken, thinking of him freezing up but then pushing himself to continue forward because he has to see
Thinking about him seeing his father, his jaw broken off and his body bloody, rasping out gargled breaths because he isn't dead yet. Thinking about his eyes meeting Issac's, trying to say something and not being able to. All that comes out is disgusting wet gargles
Thinking about how deeply Issac represses the disgusting small amount of relief he feels when he watches his father's life fade away
I want to write a hurt/comfort trans Issac Brook fic so bad bro
Like, have him get in a fight with his father and his father says some really like, not to good things, then dead names him and like his mother is near and she isn't doing anything she is just watching and it hurts
