Realizing that Howard was potentially setting up a gotcha moment for Saul here by reinquiring him about the job offer first so in the event of him finally saying yes to it Howard can embarrass him by rejecting him yet Again before confronting him about his scheme has just made this scene even more entertaining for me

The sheer contrast between Rich offering Kim a job once and Howard almost pestering Saul about his makes me question the motive behind Howard’s offer a lot tbh, like if HHM were really growing again, what’s up with the desperation for one (1) attorney whose way of practicing law has grown wildly dubious and no doubt misaligned with HHM’s ethics? What if he lied about the firm getting their momentum back? What if the need to be absolved from his guilt played a bigger part in it than mere altruism? What if he actually wanted to replace one McGill with the other so he could tell people that the M didn’t cut ties with the H after the tragedy that he was partially responsible for? What if he couldn’t stay away for an even more personal reason? What if he were really gay?
