St Petersburg trip
Today we are coming back to oulu after 5 days trip to St. Petersburg we did the way Oulu - Helsinki by bus and after took a ferry, St Peters line. That was my first time in Russia, if I'm honest I'd never thought that someday I could be in Russia but this trip offered me that opportunity and I like to take advantage of this kind of opportunities. We went with a visa-free pass for three days, if not you have to pay 80€ to enter in the country. But anyway the passport control is unpleasant and the people who works in this are really unfriendly and rude. Come on I want to see your beautiful country, is not necessary spend more than 2 hours passing passport controls. Russia can be a bit strange because they have a different culture and architecture, all buildings in St Petersburg are really big, like palaces and everything seems old. Another thing that surprised me is wherever you go in this city you can see soldiers and military and also in certain places of the city there are big weapons showed like a trophy... It's not easy to understand for me. I think they are not worried about the international tourism, every information sheet or poster is only written in Russian and also the most of the guided tours. That's really stupid in my opinion, the city is really awesome but it could be better if they wanted. Walking along some streets remind me some war games like call of duty. However I've enjoyed a lot this city, I also tried different kinds of Russian vodka, which tastes really good, and ate the "little Russian salad" (this is only understandable for Spanish people I think). We visited the big Hermitage museum and the three cathedrals of the city. Some call St Petersburg the Venice of the north but actually is more like Amsterdam than Venice. Now we are again in Helsinki and on ale have 9 hours by back to go back to Oulu...
Since I saw pictures of this place and this beautiful city I knew that I wanted to be ever here, but actually I'd never thought I would be one day in Russia in front of this great place #stpetersburg #russia #retardedface #erasmus (en St. Petersburg, Russia)
In few hours I'm going to visit my 20th country, Russia! The city of St. Petersburg, all people say it's a beautiful city, so let's see!

Sunset from Nallikari beach, Oulu (Finland). This is my first time-lapse video done with my gopro hero 3+ last wednesday 25.03.2015. I like this kind of videos and now I want to do some more, Finland is ideal for that.
A good place to start playing with cameras #loquemefaltaba (en Yliopistokatu)
Reindeer carnival Oulu 2015, Everyman's reindeer race, playful competitions and of course a traditional market at Oulu Market Square. I couldn’t participate in the raindeer race but I would have liked to participate.
It was an interesting event for me, furthermore, they were organize like a kind of market around the market place with many interesting shops with traditional Finland and Russian clothes and stuff. And, of course, meanwhile you also could be skating on the ice ring
On our way to Lapland! (at Sodankylä)
Last Friday took place the ESN sitsit party at legendary party house Teekkaritalo. Apparently sitsit dinner party is a very traditional academic student feast in Finland. The participants sit around a table. The proceedings are led by a master of ceremonies (the toastmaster) whose responsibility is to uphold traditions and order songs, based on suggestions from the participants. It also includes an after party with sauna and cheap prices for the drinks! This time people had to go dressing as a movie character or movie star and there were some people with funny costumes. The party lasted until late and afterwards a group of people went to a friend's house to eat some rice at 5:00am! It was a great night!
Last Tuesday was the Laskiainen festivities! In Oulu every year the guild of mechanical engineering organizes a traditional sledging race which has three different classes: standard, modified and bigwigs. There were a team formed by some police of Oulu and a team of a guys who competed totally naked, it was so funny. I went to the event with the ESN team and some friends and when the race finished, we went together to the after party in the Apollo night club. It was great because it was crowded of students and we also had special prices in the drinks for that night. Apollo club is quite big, it has two halls with different kind of music on each one. It also has in these halls some tables for casino games, so you can be drinking and dancing at the same time that you are playing blackjack, this is really strange for me.
Is astonishing all things you can find at any Finnish shop or supermarket! I love it!
How to walk on ice! Like a penguin! Really useful for these days in Oulu!!
Today I have tasted a Munkki, is a very traditional Finnish sweet. The Munkki is very similar to our donuts and is a Vappu tradition, this is the festivity of the May first, which is the beginning of what Finnish people recognize as summer. However, Munkki is not limited to May first, Finnish love it and eat it with some regularity with afternoon coffee. This is exactly the way I have taken it and for me it was delicious!
