Another day passed

Without notice, without passion, without belief

Belief that the next will be any better than today

That tomorrow will hold anything better, anything fonder, anything MORE

Years have passed, and I feel I’m running out

“I can’t wait for the future”

“I look forward to that”

It echos in my heart and empties with each resounding touch

The years have passed in a swell, washing over me and leaving nothing behind

Nothing but more to come, and less to have

I don’t know how long I can stand to live this way

To live and not live, to feel and feel nothing

To love and still yearn for you

For us, our future, and for the happiness and security of you

The calm in my storm, that swallows my breath before it ever reached my lungs
