It's been a hot minute since I’ve been here.
But I’ve got a question for anyone who’s out there.
We took my car to a mechanic and paid him $1000 to fix the transmission. It wasn’t fixed, so we took it back. This happened two more times. This last time, in March, when we took it back, it never got worked on. Dude keeps saying things like “Oh, if I had known your transmission was coming in today, your car would be on the lift.” and “We’re moving, once we get moved, your car will be the first one done!” They moved in June. It still hasn’t been done. I posted this on Avvo, apparently, under Ohio Lemon Law we can do something, but we don’t have money for a lawyer. My mom is the one who paid for the fix, and every time I bring it up to her, she gets defensive. If I say “I want to take legal action,” she responds with “No, no you don’t.” Why wouldn’t I? He’s been ‘working’ on my car since January and has had it since March.
What would you do? Who would you contact?
