I'm still dreaming of this salad... roasted asparagus, brussels sprouts, okra, and tofu over brown rice with caramelized shallots, pesto sauce, and fresh parsley. It was so good!

I recently went to a "cake picnic" where each guest was instructed to bake and bring a cake. I made a brown butter streusel coffee cake, and I have to say it was one of the best there, hehe. But honestly, all of it was so good, and it was like a dream come true for me.

Summer spread :]

Iced tea, succotash salad, fried fake chicken + fried tofu (to compare), biscuits +gravy, pickled plums, and two tarts: rhubarb and vanilla custard, and dark chocolate with fresh black raspberry jam and lemon chiffon cream!

The garden is looking lush! (Except for my poor strawberry plants, which didn't survive the heat wave.)

Still no veggies yet! I might need to cull the smaller plants to make more room...
