okay I'm just gonna start rambling about my Unit headcanons (including his relationship with Gorgug) bc he's such an underdeveloped character and I need more of him
I think Unit is like. a total rebel actually. I think he's super unruly (for a modron) the same way Spock is for a Vulcan you know what I mean? I think he's actually pretty open about his feelings but also pretty laid back. and he's very confident in himself.
I have a little scene in my head where he asks Gorgug to tag along on a scouting mission he's doing for his party (hc they don't have a rogue and he's the stealthiest) "as muscle" but at some point they come to a gate with a padlock and Gorgug yanks on it to try to break it but it's way too strong to break by hand. and yeah he /could/ break it with his axe or something, but he knows they're trying to be stealthy. so he turns back to Unit and goes "i dont suppose you know how to pick locks?" and Unit says "Yes, I do" and grabs the lock and just completely shatters it in his hand. and then he opens the gate (which is also like a crazy heavy mechanical gate that only is supposed to open electronically) and then just gestures for Gorgug to go first. and Gorgug is like. huh. I might be bisexual
I also think at some point Unit asks Gorgug to help him with something that he KNOWS would get him [Unit] in trouble if they're caught and Unit is like "I have the highest GPA in our entire grade they can't touch me" and Gorgug is like wait. why is that hot. he's like "higher GPA than Adaine? Riz? Kipperlilly? Oisin?" and Unit is like. "Yeah."
I also think he openly tells Gorgug he thinks he's cute and smart and all thst stuff in front of other people /all the time/ bc most people don't speak modron and Gorgug gets very flustered
