⸻ The Genesis is a paranatural entity made up not of resonance, but of alien, biological material . In its time upon Earth as a paranatural invader on Earth, it has presented itself as a phytobiological organism that latches onto the living, integrating into their bodies like a parasite and slowly reforming them from the inside out— the less monstrous one of the Blooming looks, the further along the Genesis' growth runs within them: it begins in outwardly visible growths, thorns and brambles dug into flesh and hide or vines and lianas wound tightly around limbs, prodding to dig beneath . once it has dug its way in it seeks to integrate itself as replacement to organs and bodily function . in its final, most complete stage of infection as observed in the First Seed, the Genesis has entirely overwritten the being it infected, blood replaced with sap, venom, digestive enzymes while the flesh has been completely consumed and replaced with a corded in a facsimile of muscle: vines and roots that alters their appearance with a wildly advanced array of chromatophores.

⸻ There are ( technically ) two objects linked to the Genesis. The first is an Altered Item, the Spade which belonged to the archaeologist who became the First Seed of the Genesis on Earth. Those that hold upon it find that they have the ability to dig through seemingly anything, erroneous thoughts of finding something incredible hidden away with every which have led to those who hold it attempting to carve through even concrete. The second, and infinitely more powerful, is the Object of Power, or as is the case with the Genesis, the Objects of Power: the seeds of the Genesis' heart deep within the Amazon. Every Genesis Seed has the possibility to create a threshold where the Genesis' roots can take hold and begin to grow anew. In the penultimate confrontation between the FBC and the Genesis, the massive floral bulb that housed the seeds of the Genesis Bloom ruptured and sent its seeds adrift, spreading like the seeds of a dandelion and to this day, it is one of many prime directives to find and exterminate the Genesis Seeds, lest its unchecked growth spread like a plague . The FBC is in possession of the First Seed, and by extension, the only completed Blooming: Eden Floradinn.

⸻ The Genesis was discovered when it encroached upon the city of Manaus, but it went largely undetected in the uncharted reaches of the Amazon after its discovery by the French-Japanese Archaeobiologist Eden Floradinn, believing he had come across ancient architecture utilizing a then believed undiscovered variant of lianas that would not rot beneath the ground. In his eagerness to discover more, driven almost manic in the days leading up to the Blooming as the reports by his team imply, he came upon a subterranean cavern that housed the Genesis' roots, and from them one singular, golden bloom with massive petals. In his curiosity, he cut the central bulb's membrane with the edge of his spade and released a massive cloud of a pollen-like substance. From this, the First Seed began forming within his body, settling atop his skin and clothes and almost immediately beginning a rapid germination period. It is noted in recovered reports from the archaeological team, that after Eden disappeared into the caverns and the estimated time of the Seeding, the Genesis rampantly began to spread- base camps overgrown, wildlife amalgamated into flora-fauna hybrids and an ever-spreading zone of pollen that would induce hallucinations.

⸻ As the bearer of the First Seed, Eden became the prime host for the Genesis, and it was from Eden's genetic structure that it attempted to mold the hosts of its other seeds. Reports and blurry photographs of jaguars mutilated with vines and thorns while restructured to attempt standing on two feet with elongated limbs, howler monkeys that shrieked at night in broken English and French, massive green anaconda with uncannily human eyes and teeth, all of these were reclaimed by the FBC. Yet for all the papers and photographs of the Manaus AWE, the FBC was never truly able to claim phytobiological remains to study at the Oldest House— from the largest pieces to the slightest clippings, they all seemed to wither and rot the further they were taken from the Amazon. It was when they discovered Eden, supplanted with the First Seed and completely assimilated that the discovery was made: far enough distance from the seeds of the Genesis will cause parts of it to disintegrate, unable to sustain itself without a link to the Threshold.

⸻ With this discovery, Eden / the Genesis was taken to the Oldest House for containment— uncharacteristically willing of an entity, like just as much of Eden bled into the Genesis as it did vice versa . In fact, given the time the Genesis has been implanted in Eden, though he is all but entirely replaced by the flora, his appearance is distinctly human— the Genesis can rupture through Eden's 'flesh' in order to sprout vine-like appendages and tentacles, or protective thorns which will very quickly shatter the human camouflage. Through Eden, the FBC is able to ascertain the location of the other Genesis Seeds that were scattered upon the bulb's rupture for containment— and specifically containment. The Genesis can sense when they are destroyed, and it is not pleased when that occurs.
