IT'S TATTOO TIME!

So, before I made this blog, I was just getting my Gex kick back in about February. One of my closest friends only just gotten the Gex trilogy on discount on Steam and when I noticed he was playing it, I COULDN'T say no! It made me realize how much I loved Gex as a little girl. After being acquainted with this classic again, I've fallen in love all over again with this underrated classic game series. I myself am bit of a TV and movie geek and a massive lover of pop culture, so it makes sense that Gex is one of my comfort characters. This tattoo was done early last month, 8th May. I just couldn't resist! Right now, he's become pretty popular with everyone who has seen him on my arm! LOCK AND LOAD, LITTLE LIZARD!

seeing the other ask i also want to join in on the Gex train i love your way of drawing the gecko. Reading his lore and getting to know the character inspired me to write fics on him. I really do wish people see Gex beyond the playboy, person he is a complex character and it makes him so interesting.

Thank you! That's awesome you write fics on Gex, I'd love to read them sometime. He's a lot more complex than most people give him credit for and it always feels like a little treat to be able to talk about Gex with other people unironically.

How to draw underwater settings: make everything floaty and weightless. Done! ✅ Unless you're a geek like me and want to learn all about how to paint the lighting: the highlights of the ripples, the bluish glow, the reflections.. there's a lot to think about but it's so satisfying once you get it right!

Jokes aside im here to tell you how much i overall love any gex content you make because it's such a rare thing to see people drawing Gex beyond his "playboy" persona, i hope I'm making sense here

It's always refreshing to see gex angst

YES you get it. He's a comfort character for me because I resonate with him on a personal level as I'm sure many others could. It's super relatable to have a character who uses tv as a coping mechanism to shield themselves from the depressed life they live. It's relatable to think your dorky references from your favorite shows is funny and have people look at you weird cause they don't get it. It's another thing to see him actually get out of that slump and see his life improve by the time we get to 3, allowing people back into his life and using tv a little less as an escape with Alfred and Xtra there for him. Even moving on from his trauma about his dad at the end of 3 as he makes light comments about him with Xtra. I love seeing real character growth like that. That boy is steeped in lore and it's a shame most people don't know about it because it's in the manual and mostly absent from the games. Anyway thank you so much, I'm always happy to get the chance in sharing the Gex love around.

What do y’all think (in your opinion) happened between Cosmo and Hesper in the past? What made the two end their friendship?

Okay a Cosmo ask, interesting. I think Hesper started showing early signs of being controlling and that drove a wedge between her and Cosmo. Coupled with the fact that Hesper is in love with him, what might have been the last straw is Hesper asking Cosmo out and refusing to take no for an answer. The way Cosmo said "You know my heart belongs to someone else" gives me the impression that they've had this issue pop up before. This need for power and validation ultimately led up to her becoming queen, much to Cosmo's surprise.
