WELCOME, WELCOME

This is a competition to decide the best 80’s anime character. I’m a very busy person so this will go in a slower rate.

Polls will be tagged: #80sanimecharacter and #poll.

A few rules:

- only anime characters from the 80’s, or at least from shows that peaked in that time - if it started earlier but got famous then, I will consider it. In the same way, if it’s from the early 90’s but still carries the right vibe I’ll allow it

- animations made in the west will be considered in a case by case basis

- I’ll only allow one character per fandom, but feel free to submit more than one - we will have preliminary rounds to decide who will represent the show.

- in case of a tie or close match (that could have been decided by a few more votes) I’ll consider both winners and they move on as a duo and win as a duo.

- propaganda is encouraged. Hate or unwanted criticism to shows is not. You will be blocked.

- should go unsaid don’t be an asshole, keep things civil

- yes I am biased towards a few of these. I will not apologise.

I was thinking about Esteban or Mendoza too, and I guess Mendoza would have a better chance with his cape and questionable actions and motivations and morals. Also "bastard with a hidden heart of gold accidentally becoming the father of three orphans in 39 episodes" can be very appealing.

Okay replying to the tags - the anime only has to have started in the 80’s and the character introduced then or following the same energy of the original ones. If it’s still ongoing or lasted more than the decade (which. Respect.) then the character is completely valid!

So if there’s a second season in the 90’s it’s okay, as long as the character already existed then, to use it as argument or propaganda

Nah, the second season came out in 2012 (and is wasn't an anime anymore), so we're sticking with the first season (1982) 😅

An update:

When submitting a character, please tag their fandom as broadly as possible.

For example, if your character is from Dragon Ball, just write Dragon ball, not the many variants and spin offs (like DBZ and such). Same thing with fandoms like Saint Seiya who have had a shit ton of arcs.

In addition, if a character has two names, write both please, as to avoid confusion.
