some characters just need to run away from their current circumstances and survive (just barely) on the streets or in the wilderness for a while, you know? i don't think it's necessarily the most efficient path to healing and it's certainly not the least painful/traumatic one but sometimes a character has been so stripped of agency and you just want to see them run away and forcibly shift their genre to survival thriller......

What made you start to enjoy Chuuya’s character?

So when I was watching BSD initially, I had liked Chuuya, but he wasn't my favorite (can you guess who my fav initially was?). I was like "alright, so he's Dazai's ex and he's hot with a neat power, cool."

AND THEN. AND THEN I GOT TO SEASON THREE.

What do you mean that in this urban fantasy setting where so far the most wild backstory has been "he used to work for the Port Mafia" or "he didn't know he could turn into a tiger", you have a man who was created by a secret military experiment who is essentially the living embodiment of an ability explosion that gained sentience who used to be the main protector of a gang of street orphans living in the slums in a crater that he created by escaping the military complex he was created in and then is blackmailed by the mafia to join them? What do you mean he's not one of the main characters? What do you mean his totally screen time in the whole anime is like twenty minutes????

Anyways that's when I became obsessed with his man and he started living rent free in my head.

What are Chuuya’s favourite hobbies?

In theory, Chuuya has many hobbies... in practice, it's shopping and playing with his cat, Miss. Very rarely, he'll indulge himself by playing pool at the Old World or doing some wine tastings or going to eat at a fancy upscale restaurant, but usually he's too tired from work. He's a busy detective and he usually only has the time to run errands or give affection to Miss (which is very important).

Also, for those not in the know, it got delayed last night and this afternoon. For fun edible goodness. Which provided another doodle.
