i've been thinking a lot about how androids dismiss any notions of machines having consciousness or will or emotions or anything of the sort right to their faces & the machines just have to go ok because any disagreement could mean death. and androids keep finding reasons to ignore any personhood displayed by the machines and keep on killing them. route C/D 9S... jackass's machine report... they discover that they have the same exact cores as machines, that the 'ghost of humanity' resides within the machines, and their conclusions continue to be We have to destroy all machines. 9S i think remarks on how strange human wars were but the android & machine war is in fact just like one... killing people that many know somewhere within are just like them and ignoring or justifying it with lies about the so-called enemy's lack of it... specifically on the part of colonisers who have significantly more power than those they subjugate

also i thought this game was way more popular than it actually is. people just like to drool over 2B i guess...

looking through the tags a bit it never occurred to me once to think the **** adam says to 9S was "fuck". like unless i missed it there is not an ounce of sexual humor that comes from the mouths of any machines or androids (or even in general in the game at all, sure the women are designed like that but that's a separate thing) and beyond that why would they have such functions??? i see absolutely no reason why that would be the word

YoRHa androids have so much potential for exploration of the structures and experiences inherent to gender and sexuality.

And it feels. intentional. since the entire point of Nier Automata is analyzing what it means to be human and how we can reconcile violence and fear with love and understanding in a system designed to encourage the former.

Point is Nier Automata is queer as all hell and there is no such thing as a heterosexual relationship between androids ✌️
