I hope everyone learned the same thing this past week; we aren’t athletes friends, families and neighbors, we don’t know them personally, we know their careers and media personales. For everyone saying “I thought they were better than that” no you didn’t cause you don’t know who they are. Everyone has a right to believe what they believe and you can’t stop or change that.

Seeing everything in the hockey world go down I hope everyone learned that, you don’t know which way any person leans in religious or political beliefs in the hockey world cause clearly vast majority surprised most of yall, you can’t say you expected better when you didn’t know what to expect. I’m sorry to burst y’all’s bubbles but y’all needed to learn that you might either hate who these athletes truly are or you would look past it.

Call them out for all the bullshit yes 100% go for it, but don’t sit here and say that you thought this and that, cause you truly don’t know them, you didn’t know what you would get, I’m sorry to say but if you guys met half the athletes you support at a bar you would look at the very differently.

This is why I think parasocial relationships are so bad and toxic cause you can look at a guys or girls career and think “this is badass I support them”but you can’t get mad when they aren’t who they are on your tv screen… everyone needs to understand that at the end of the day athletes do what they deem is right and okay in their eyes and you can never change the way they look at things cause they aren’t here to please you, they are here to please their bosses and family and friends and make their bag.

I know this is gonna sound crazy coming from a Celebrini and sharks fan; but Macklin isn’t a top forward currently, stats wise he is but he still has a lot to improve on in order to get that honor, I know he gets a ton of hype and praise for how good as he is, right now, but he still lacks improvements and he’s gonna be a massive massive player when he learns even just how to control he’s outburst better, wanting to do well is great but he is known to be very impulsive and it’s something he needs to work on, regardless I think from what we have seen is that the sharks are gonna give him the opportunity and space to improve as a player, cause truly you are only as good as your last game. I truly believe that he will go down as a top forward but he’s not there yet. I truly believe that the sharks will stop at nothing to help their younger players get to the best of their abilities; I truly believe that Will will soon start getting a lot more recognition for how good he is but for right now every sharks fan is seeing his improvements meanwhile everyone focuses on Macklin. But that’s a different topic for a different time.

This is why I truly believe that the best players stem from teams who look to help them improve and develop as players and not rely on them to figure it all out on their own.

This is why I also think that Quinn Hughes going to Minnesota was the best decision for his career cause he’s been improving and growing as a player and will go down as a top defensemen even though people like to argue otherwise.

Also in my opinion right now Jack and Luke are at a standstill point in their careers, where their improvements are very minimal, and their injuries are just making it worse.

At the end of the day, I truly just feel horrible for the USA women’s hockey team, who were reduced to a joke by the president of the very country they won a gold medal for and whose anthem they sang proudly with American flags draped around their shoulders. Who were laughed at by their fellow Olympians and hockey players. Who have worked just as hard (if not harder) than the men to get to the point, because after the last Winter Olympics, many of them didn’t even know if they would be able to continue playing professional hockey on account of being women!

But I am so fucking proud of them and I refuse to let their win be overshadowed by this absolute garbage. They are gold medalists and always will be!

Honestly seeing everything going on in Mexico makes me sad cause I want my nephews and kids to see what life was like for me growing up… now that seem nearly impossible cause you are constantly looking over shoulder
