St.cecelia (unedited)
(a poem my ex wrote after we broke up)
Like the leaves of autumn
Our love corroded quietly.
Illuminated by a Rustic Red
Complimented with
Dying yellows
And deathly browns.
Decaying upon silent grounds
Of emerald contrite.
Without the need to solicit
The dying of the usual light.
Much Like fireflies without a spark
The thought of you
Is slowly swallowed by an ever lasting penitentiary dark.
Has you embark for shores
Lost within mythical winds
Amongst distant green lands of promise.
Away from me , and all things honest.
Shaking hands with individuality
Alongside independence.
Free from the grips of dependence
And the burden coexistence.
I wish you well
With the ear Piercing persistence
Of a morning death bell.
My dear Cecilia
Reside not in the abysmal wastes of hell
For you are an angel.
Who fell far from the comfort of home
into the vices of temptation.
Through the doors of similar syndrome
And the hand of deceitful intent.
Buried under catacombs of the unkempt
Your appearance sent shivers down my
Spine lending weight to the fact that one
One day my heart may beat again.
But until than
You remain a whisper
Of a time well spent.
Locked away for all time.
Hastily tucked under this disorder of mine.
You will stay complacently
Free from your own kind.

That was the thing. You never got used to it, the idea of someone being gone. Just when you think it’s reconciled, accepted, someone points it out to you, and it just hits you all over again, that shocking.
