for @8souleter8
the 7/11: a fluorescent, spiritually greasy, lawful yet godless place. if his parents ever found out how often he had stepped into one since coming back to seoul alone, he thinks they really would disown him.
it’s that very fact that stabs him with glee, and the very reason he sits his ass down at one of the small booths on the other side of the store with a freshly-opened ramen and a can of rockstar. the night’s on the verge of becoming a bad one all thanks to a single missed call from his mother, but he knows how to take care of himself by now, and he knows that nothing will wash away the bitter taste in the back of his mouth better than a grape energy drink and scalding hot ramen.
he’s not sure if he wants to be around other people though, which is why he balks when he sees someone else enter the seating area. jisun hunches in on in himself by instinct, sliding his ramen a little closer to himself protectively like he’s afraid that the newcomer would try to snatch it from him. but there’s plenty of other booths – jisun eyes them warily, silently commanding them to take a seat somewhere already so he can go back to eating.
no food in the fridge tonight?? No problem!!!
to dohyun, a busy schedule between endless hours of exams and coding at school to late night gaming until the morning resulted in absolutely no time to do anything in related to the necessities! Whether it be the big laundry bag almost filled up to the brim, or, in this case, nothing in the fridge but milk and a couple of oranges, he thought it would be in his best interest to go to the 7/11 down the street (rather than, y'know, an actual grocery store.)
but this was the norm for dohyun. in fact, it was one of the only scenarios in which he enjoyed going out. he didn't have to dress up like he does for school. to him, a hoodie, sweatpants, socks and sandals would suffice for a ramen date with himself.
so there he was, strolling into the 7/11 he knew as if it was his second home. he walked his way through the aisles like he owned the place, picking out his favorite instant ramen, cheese, sausage, and more for his last meal of the day. after the payment and preparement, he looked to sit outside like he normally does, but realized.. it was a rather chilly day today. he couldn't bask in the nighttime like he usually does without shivering by the end of it.
that meant he had to find a seat inside, where the seating table that faced the window was already preoccupied with someone there. he never really minded, though he'd rather eat alone. however, once he got closer to sit a seat away from him, he noticed that the other male immediately put his guard up to protect his ramen that... dohyun already purchased as well. he sat down, eyeing back the other (who seemed to be around his age, he guessed?) as if it was a game. although the scenario, he found this stranger rather... funny? at how serious he looked when dohyun was already at a respectable distance. the side of his mouth rose to a chuckle, then a scoff before he sat down and decided to break his chopsticks before speaking,
"hey... y'know... its not polite to stare at anyone like that..."
"by the way, this ramen tastes so much better with cheese sausage.. you should give it a try."
