Chaeri had been unintentionally following behind the female for what had seemed like a few blocks now. Every time she glanced up from her cellphone she got an eye full of long tresses and legs. It made her suck her teeth in disgust. Tall bitches. She wasn’t the only one intrigued by the female. It seemed like all eyes were on her as she strolled down the street turned catwalk. Her presence seemed to command attention. Male attention especially. It was as if they’d never seen a girl with a face full of make-up and s-line before. Pretty bitches. A pang of jealousy shot through Chaeri’s gut–which happened to be a lot rounder than most. The fact even more apparent as she neared the other, gaze flickering to the female’s midsection as she made a quick comparison. She let out a huff, muttering under her breath before turning her attention back to her phone. “Skinny bitches…” Had she been less occupied by her phone, and had the volume of her ear buds turned down a little, she would’ve realized that her ‘mutter’ had been a tad bit louder than what she had thought.
It had been a long day. Too long. Hours spent in the studio had been mostly fruitless and a total waste, and all she could do was grit her teeth as she was berated for her “shit takes,” as they call it. All she could do all day was grit her teeth, really. Between that, her messed up coffee order, the stain on the collar of her brand new shirt, and the angry phone call from her mother about her state of being had done very little to pick this abysmal day up. She actually noticed a few of the wandering eyes that watched her walk through Seoul’s busy streets, and she only happened to glare at two poor unsuspecting souls. It wasn’t really the day to fuck around with her. She managed to ignore just about everything else until two little words floated past her ears that made her stop in her tracks.
Skinny bitches.
Years of starving herself of nutrients, demolishing her health and jeapardizing her career has left her sensitive. A little part of her almost appreciated the “compliment,” which left her feeling decidedly empty and stupid.
“Excuse me?” Dohee asked, spinning on her heels to face the voice from behind.
