❛ birthday girl ❜
Surprised, Seulgi’s eyes widened slightly. She had no idea at first who it could be, and she really wasn’t sure who else Hun had befriended in the sharehouse other than the tall, rowdy male proclaiming himself to be a cash-strapped, jobless rock star from the sixth floor. Then there was Joohyun, too. At the thought of the tickets coming from the older woman, the smile on Seulgi’s face turned into a curt one. It bothered her, but she tried her best to shrug the feeling off. There wasn’t wrong with the tickets coming from Joohyun, was there? “Ah… I like all days, honestly. Maybe the second or third. There’s one here I feel you might like.” She then described the film to she was referring to to Hun, which distracted her to a slight extent. “What do you think?”
Laughing, Seulgi drew her arms away at Hun’s protest, then continued with trying to put the pin on herself again. In the middle of her attempt, she spoke again. “Are you sure you want to go the festival with me, though?” She took a deep breath, then asked a question she felt would make her look petty. Still, she wanted to hear what he would say. “Won’t there be someone else you’d like to go to the movies with?”
He listens as Seulgi describes a movie about the startup of a band; she seems a little too keen on one of the actors, if he does say so himself--but he pretends to ignore that bit, since the plot really does genuinely interest him. “It’s showing on which day again? I’ll make sure to be free for it,” he assures her with an encouraging smile. He’s confused as to why Seulgi keeps asking if he has someone else he’d love to go with--isn’t he here, offering these tickets to her? On her birthday too, at that. Besides, he thinks he’s been pretty obvious about the fact that he likes her, and he thinks she’s been pretty reactive to this fact. “I mean-- you don’t see me asking anyone else, do you?” He comments, using a light teasing tone.
