john constantine from constantine (2005) is The character of all time to me tbh. legally dead for 2 minutes. gets driven around by a babyfaced exorcist wannabe in the backseat of a borrowed taxi. has no bedside manner talking to a distraught woman who believes her sister shouldn't be in hell. originally had a succubus situationship but the director cut her out to make him seem more lonely. so autistic/aroace that flirting and advances slide off of him like water on a duck. smoked 30 cigs a day starting at age 15. selfish dude who gave up his life to swap places with a random stranger he didn't know, but in doing so nearly ascended to heaven and flipped off satan. the devil himself hates him so much that he cured his lung cancer. Who Is Doing It Like Him
Part One: Featuring John Wick, Ted Logan, Don John, Neo, and Donnie Barksdale
Avatar: The Last Airbender was one of my favorite shows growing up and I wanted to do something fun by imagining what types of benders the Keanuverse would be.
Special thanks to @saturnalia2808 for helping me with this topic. ❤
John Wick - John would be an earth bender with a specialized sub-skill of metal bending. He is disciplined, loyal, and grounded like a lot of earth bending types. With his experience handling diverse weapons and fighting styles, John would be able to utilize both earth and metal manipulation to fight his opponents in the most effective ways possible (see metal bending gif below).
Ted Logan - Sweet, fun-loving Ted is an air bender with the unique use of the air guitar. Air benders are characteristically peaceful and value life, which is compatible with Bill and Ted's words of wisdom: "Be excellent to each other and party on, dudes!" With air being the element of freedom, it matches Ted's carefree attitude. It's easy to imagine Ted riding an air scooter with Aang and likewise it's fun to picture Aang learning to air bend using the air guitar method.
Don John - Don John would be a volatile fire bender with blue flames like Azula, with the secondary ability of lightning generation. His impetuous temper and passionate ambition to be a villain to everybody reflects fire benders' tendencies towards aggressive and intense attacking styles. Being governed by his emotions, and having a more beloved older brother, is also similar to Azula and her tragic downfall. It's not hard to picture Don John engaging in an emotional Agni Kai with Don Pedro.
Neo - Neo Anderson would be an Avatar hailing from the Water Tribe. Being The One, he has the ability to master all four elements. His fluid fighting style is characteristic of water bending and his adeptness in learning newer techniques speaks to water benders' openness to change. Adaptability and versatility is key with water bending and is mirrored by his own journey in transitioning from Thomas Anderson to The One.
Donnie Barksdale - (Don't get mad at me, @casuallyobssessed 😂) Donnie would be a non-bender that would align himself with the Equalist movement from Legend of Korra. Hatred and jealousy taints his character and as we know from The Gift, he dislikes what he does not understand and is not shy about showing his distaste towards Annie and her clairvoyant abilities. I would not put it past him to hold great resentment towards elemental benders and join a group that wants to eliminate bending of any type.
