Mikasa is great because she’s this hella strong badass who literally wants a cookie cutter domestic life with a house and a garden and a family. And she will literally do anything to get that life. That’s not really what he says.

The way I see it, he offers to erase her memories if she can’t bear the guilt of going along with his plan. That is, if she already decided to. It’s something he offers as relief to her, not as a threat to make her comply. He’s already quite confident in her willing compliance because of her words that day.

Eren already understands the emotional burden of taking on this mission. It’s not surprising he’d want to spare Historia from it if she chose to.

one thing I appreciate about Armin's character is that in a conflict-filled, spiritual story like AoT, a character that is as earthed should wind up a nihilistic bastard, it surely would have been easier for Isayama to write him in that direction, considering all that he had endured. instead, Armin is an optimist who believes even the smallest creatures have intrinsic value, even the tasks we thoughtlessly perform are purposeful, that life itself is meaning.
